  1. Hi guys,

I've been wondering about this as I heard many different information.

I've just been in the country for 3 months and applied for 186 VISA under Direct Entry stream. Do I need to get an Australian Police clearance record? (I have submitted police records from my original country). Does anybody have experience about this?

I really appreciate any helps. Thank you very much!

you will need Police Clearance from Australian Police.

  2. Hi Blekm,

I actually moved house during my application process - All I did was complete a change of address form (which you can get from the immi website) and emailed it to them. It will not affect your application at all - just complete the form and send it in...... when My PR was granted the new address was on there... all my documents/attachments etc had my old address on them and all was fine.

    Good Luck!

great, thanks for the answer, I just did it yesterday

  3. hello to everyone,

great forum with a lot of good info!

I'm like all of you waiting for the answer from 186 Direct Entry Stream. I've applied with all the documents (including Medicals and Police Clearance) on 19 March using a Migration Agent. Still waiting..

question for those who received their PR: have there been some kind of controls? Like calling your work place, checking your address ecc ecc

Because I'm thinking of moving and I'm not sure if I should notify that my address has changed... from the Immi website it says that I should

any suggestions? I mean, if they don't really go and knock on your house door...

    Thanks for the help

  4. hello everybody,

great forum, I'm here as everybody else, with the purpose of getting a 186 visa. My WHV will expire in April and I still need to do the assessment (261212 Web Developer)

    1) I do not have a degree but I have 8 years of experience and I'll probably need to submit a PRL to the ACS. Is it feasible to get the skills assessed without a degree or it's impossible?

Other few questions about the 186

    2) Are there any limitations for the company regarding the 186?

    3) Are there any limitations going for the 186 from a WHV?

    4) What is the waiting period for the 186 Nomination to be approved? It look long and I do not have all that time (WHV expires in April 2014).. so, can Nomination and Application be submitted at the same time?

    5) If I do not get the skills assessed can they make a nomination for the 457 instead of the 186?

    6) need some medical papers? or only in case it they ask for it?

Still need to find a lawyer, but I will probably by the end of this month

Thanks for the help guys, you definitely have more experience than me, you've already ahead of me.
