    Our Client, based in Welshpool - Perth, specialises in the supply of complete pumping and dewatering systems and services.

    Currently they require an experienced specialist pump fitter for their busy workshop.

    To be considered for this role, you MUST have the following:

     

     

    • Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pump maintenance
    • Bore pump experience is essential
    • Ability to strip, assess, fault find, rebuild a large variety of pumps ranging from end suction, split case and submersible
    • Ability to align pumps to motors
    • Lathe /milling machine work desirable but not essential
    • Workshop experience in a busy environment

  11. Mechanical Fitter - Perth Northern Suburbs

     

    Our Client based in Malaga has a vacancy within its Machine Assembly area for a Tradesperson dedicated to quality work.

     

    Through their latest range of CNC routers they are redefining the role of CNC routing for businesses. Their machines are used in Sign Making, Cabinet Making, General Woodworking, Plastic/Sheet Metal Fabrication, Boat Building, Set/Prop Making & Packaging.

     

    You will be assembling CNC routers developed and manufactured in Australia, that lead the local market and compete in the CNC market overseas.

     

    They are looking for a person who can join a small team, is self-motivated, and is keen to use their skills to add value to its processes. In turn they will support your ongoing development as a Tradesperson.

     

    Please find a comprehensive list of your primary responsibilities:

    On a daily basis Machine Assembly

     

     

    • Assemble within all specifications using the drawings supplied
    • Within the boundaries of your own skill set, build components on machines
    • As required, submit requests for modifications required

     

    Machine Testing

     

     

    • As directed by the supervisor run the required tests to ensure the machine is running to specification.

     

    Documentation

     

     

    • Mark drawings to show design changes needed to make parts fit, lengths of cable, etc

     

    Quality

     

     

    • Complete all paper work and ensure that all information is recorded as the assembly proceeds
    • Any input on how to improve our current system is to be discussed with the Production Manager. Attention to detail, tightening bolts, repairing chips to powder coated finish of components etc. are very important to the assembly of a quality product
    • Continuous Improvement - Monitor and Improve Systems and Methods to achieve optimum efficiencies and product quality

     

    Workshop

     

     

    • Tools ensure that all tools are maintained, are in good working order and stored in the appropriate storage when not in use. Any defects should be reported

     

    Mobile Storage Racks

     

     

    • Maintaining the stock levels of the rack in your allocated area at the recommended minimum levels in accordance with the reordering procedure

     

    Cleaning & Housekeeping

     

     

    • Work areas should be kept safe, clean and organised on a daily basis.
    • Maintain good workshop practices

     

    Occupational Health and Safety

     

     

    • Where possible, to ensure hazards are eliminated or reported to the production manager
    • Use correct methods of lifting. Abide by our OH&S requirements around PPE operation of mobile plant and operation of powered tools and machinery in a safe manner

     

    Special Requirements

     

     

    • As a member of a small team, you may be required to “play out of position” when your regular jobs and duties are achieved
    • Basic welding skills and the ability to cut metal to specified lengths per drawings provided would be beneficial
    • Train to operate special purpose CNC vertical milling machine
    • Train to commission manufactured CNC router
    • To continually strive to improve your areas of responsibility
    • To work as a team member, encouraging and cooperating with other team members

     

     

    To be successful in this position you will have:

     

     

    • A Trade qualification or a recognised qualification gained overseas
    • Fork lift ticket
    • Be prepared to undergo a Drug & Alcohol screen
