  1. Hi, after advise, I have been working for my employer 16 months since I got my PR on the 187. I have been with the company over 5 years and was moved to another site 10 months ago. My contract hasn’t been adhered to and my boss is making it very hard for me to earn what I was earning so my family and I have taken a huge reduction in pay which is now putting financial stress on us. He refuses holiday when I try to take it too. I have been offered another job not within the company, will this affect my visa and lead it to be cancelled or do I have a case for this? Has anyone else been through this? Above is the short version of events but the main of what is happening. I just don’t know which way to turn!!!

  2. Maybe it is because your medicals are out of date jess6! A friend of ours submitted their application 'decision ready' with medicals that had she done before and within an hour of the nomination and application processed by her Ma she was granted her PR! I still wonder if we had done our medicals back in march would we have found out sooner?!?!

  3. Sorry it's just taken a while settle in! I wasn't expecting to hear anything for a few months at least!!!!

Yep that's us, couldn't remember exact dates etc!!!

    so in my experience.......

we had a 457 and transitioned from there to a permanent residency visa.

We used a migration agent as it was a lot of money to invest and we wanted to make sure everything was perfect.

In hindsight it's the best decision we made. We did our medicals a week ago and then granted our PR 8 days later. One wonders if we had done our medicals in march it may have been 8 days from then or sooner than today.

Using a migration agent meant our application was 'decision ready' so no delays for further information etc. The only delay for us was between the nomination and visa as we didn't apply at the same time incase it didn't get approved and we would have lost a lot of money.

I hope this information helps those who are waiting and those who are ready to apply soon.

Please also be careful of what you are charged by an migration agent. Ours was $2200 and we would recommend to anyone. They have been there for us from sorting our 457 visa until today.

Its great to see the people I spoke to 4 years ago today have PR, we were all waiting on our 457 to be approved this time 4 years ago! Good luck to you all still waiting for that PR grant notification. I wish you all the very best in luck, health and wealth!

    Straya mates!!!

  4. Hi and Welcome

Im in the same boat as you except we haven't applied for our visa yet, we are just waiting on the nomination. Ours was submitted April and further info requested 29th sept. The employer submitted the extra info 14th Oct and we are still waiting. They look at the nomination first then the Visa.

    Hi All

Firstly what a great forum, so much great support and helpful information.

This is my first post here so hoping you guys may be able to give some assistance.

    My Timeline and profile:

ENS 186 for Myself and Defacto partner - Both LR countries - Customer Service Manager

Nomination Submitted by my HR team at work: 01/04/2016

Visa Application Submitted by immigration agent: 01/09/2016

Additional Docs Requested for Nomination: 02/11/2016

From the forums experience do you think that now that the nomination is being looked at that my side of the application will be reviewed over the coming weeks?

Alternatively, do you think there will still be a long wait for the application to be reviewed by a Case Officer?

Unsure if the same case officer will likely review both sides of the application at a similar time. At least it seems there is a human somewhere looking at my application!

Any advise regards whether I or my agent should attempt to contact immigration at this stage?

Best of luck to all! May the PR come your way soon.

  5. This is my longest post so far and for well deserved reasons :)

Hurrayyy !!! I got my PR today :)

This happened in a little strange way but I would like to share if it gives help to any of you.

I posted yesterday about my conversation with IMMI guys. They said it is Feb applications going on right now. After reading replies on the forum it was clear that I am not alone in concluding there is something amiss. Hence I called IMMI again in afternoon and some other lady picked up. She took interest in taking my application number, checked into system and suggested application has not been allocated yet to CO. I made a mental note to call them back in 2 to 3 weeks time.

Today morning I had a very strong intuition that it would be my day !! And I rebuked myself considering 2 calls from yesterday with IMMI.

And yes, I got an email from my MA - PR granted to me and to dear wifey. No docs requested (incl form 80). Point to note that visa document has date of grant of yesterday.

    Timelines: Nom & Visa 29th March 2016

    Granted: yesterday, 25th October 2016

Applied NSW PESE processed by VIC PESE.

    Occupation: IT Biz development

    HR, 2 Ppl

    My conclusions:

    1. Don't call IMMI -> It adds to mental pressure and they do not furnish correct details.

    2. Confirm with your MA about completeness of your docs. I enquired my MA on form 80 after seeing a few posts here. They replied my application is complete without form 80. I was ok after that. And boy they were right! So MA knows their stuff, trust in them else again you would be under undue pressure.

    3. Looks like application processing has definitely picked up and they are using different centers to share load. So be patient (and I know it is easier said than done, but do we have a choice!)

It feels awesome to post this here :) Folks, thank you all for your support in this journey in last 2 months. I wish you the BEST and you shall have PR soon.

    Cheers!!

    congratulations!!!!!

  6. We had our first nomination refused as company changed owners and not the visas. The company has applied again ain April this year and immigrations asked for more information two weeks ago (just to verify we had been working there for last two years). How long will we have to wait roughly for the nomination to be approved? Confirmation of employment was sent back to them the following day.

  7. Did they sell the business after lodging nomination or before , is the Abn same or changed

They sold the business last year so well before nomination, not sure re ABN number, just spoken to MA we need the to change the sponsor details again then re apply the nomination!!! Going to be another 4-5 months wait for that then another 4-5 month wait or more for the visa!!!!!! So frustrating!

  8. I did it myself, and it was pretty straightforward. Certainly cheaper! The stories on here about (a small minority of) MAs who have messed up are infuriating, and I would expect (hope?) that a CO who sees a few issues with a self-submitted application is just going to pick up the phone and sort it out when the case comes to the top of the pile, and you don't have the delays say if CO opens file, sees something is missing, CO contacts MA, MA faffs around a bit, is busy with other people, then passes request on to client, clients gets docs, sends to MA who then uploads it.

Of course if you have any unusual aspects to your application though, say health issues, estranged family not on the application, change of company name or whatever, then it might be worth at least getting an MA's advice. We were straightforward, so had no issues.

thanks for the advice, we used an MA for our 457 but the company paid for it, now it's down to us and I'm weighing up situations.

  9. This means that the Direct Entry Stream can be used by someone who is not applying under the Temporary Resident Transition stream. Under TRT, you are applying only after working for the nominating employer in the nominated occupation on a 457 for 2 years prior to your application.

DE stream is for anyone else, i.e. never worked in Australia, or is applying under the nominating employer/occupation on 457 for less than 2 years You could also use the DE stream if your current 457 (over 2 years) employer will not sponsor and you find someone else who will. So you could work on a 457 visa for 2 years for ABC company, then apply for 186 DE stream for XYZ company.

Thanks a lot for the info. Will pass it on.
