  1. My case officer sent me an email but always the same words. no actual information on the status of the application. She said that there are 2 stages and mine is in the 2nd stage. No further information. I think they dont know either what is happening

Ha, we ringed up AHPRA to ask about the progress because we never had any personal contact from a case officer. They didn't even know there was a letter posted to us a week earlier!

  2. from recall i think you'll see the money gone before you get any contact then you should get an email with a load of blurb in it that will basically have a letter attached telling you what further info they want off you with timescales for providing it and allocating you a case officer as a point of contact.

We saw the money going at the date the application arrived at the AHPRA office. However, we never got any details nor personal contact, just a postal letter after almost 3 months... I don't know whether humans are working at AHPRA or just a computer sending randomized nonsens!?

  3. Hi,

I am a nurse working in Germany and as far as I can see I struggle with the same problems with AHPRA as you do.

It is 13 weeks now since AHPRA received my documents, the fee was claimed and payed within a week and from that moment on I haven't heard anything from them.

After 10 weeks I started calling them weekly with getting contradictory information. From "the assessment will be finalized soon" to "the assessment didn't even start". No request via email has ever been answered.

Last call today: due to a high volume of oversea assessments (e.g. Africa) they can' t give a time frame. But I was given a usefull advise: to check my mails very often- as if this can make the process

    faster!

Tomorrow I'll quit my job as I have a period of notice of 6 month (PR Visa time frame: 8/14) with nothing in my hands then the Visa itsself.

    So, good luck to all!

  4. Applied to AHPRA a week ago, not heard anything yet, but I've seen people on here waiting 2-4 weeks, so hopefully not long left.

Well, I applied a month ago and received only one signal from AHPRA. The credit card was charged. Gave them a call this week asking whether the ANMAC documents have arrived. Thus they told me everything is fine for now. However, a case manager would start with the application end of November earliest. Doesn't seem to be a fast lane...

  5. I'm just wondering, about a question on the eHealth section on the DIAC website.

It asks whether 'you've ever been in contact with a person known to have tb'. Now as a nurse, obviously I've been in contact with people with tb, so i was going to answer that question with 'yes'. Have other people filled the question in that way, or am i interpreting it wrong?

    Well, I answered with 'No'...

  6. Thank you!Ok so now we have the first problem. I'm at home at the moment(my daughter is 1)an I'm having parent time(?) until she is 2,5. So I'm not working as a nurse right now and anmac assesses nurses who are working the last 3months full time. I'm not going back to my concern we wanted to complete all the registration and visa stuff during my parent time and we thought of going to Perth where I start casua work. That means the end of ou plans right?

Not sure where you read that. In fact, ANMAC is responsible for the assessment of you as a European nurse when applying for PR visa. It does not matter how long you worked ever, if you want to apply as a nurse on SOL, you must get ANMAC assessed. Usually they define a range of "has worked at least x months full time in the last y years", which mean, everything is fine for you!

Btw, everything you need is already stated in your PM in the German Australia forum!

  7. Hi, AHPRA is for registration to be allowed to work as a nurse in Oz, whilst ANMAC is responsible for immigrants to check whether your study is comparable to Oz content and you're on the SOL. In the end, you have to assess at ANMAC before going into the 189 or 190 visa path. After being assessed, you need to register at AHPRA. Good luck!
