  1. Join the Queue!

How we Brits love a queue!! Thought I'd pass a bit of time whilst I'm waiting and make a list of applicants from when the application was submitted.

Please add yourself if I've missed you off, or have had your visa granted. Turns out there's a fair few of us and I'm sure a few silent members/guests out there.

    LJD90 ???

Nice one Pookie, I did the same for the applications submitted the same month as me. Be warned though, it will -

    a) take over your life and

    b) cause huge feelings of injustice when you see people who submitted their applications weeks after you get their grants before you get yours

  2. The current quoted waiting times for London at 10-14 months

Some very recent applicants such as CameronsDad were quoted 9-12 months but, to avoid disappointment, it's probably wise to assume worst case 14 months and anything better than that is a bonus.

The PMV visa application process is relatively straightforward as basically all you have to do is prove that you

    1. have a bona fide relationship and plan to get married within a certain timeframe

    2. don't have a criminal record

    3. are in reasonable health

You just have to have to be willing to wait in a long queue, but us British are supposedly good at queuing aren't we?

  3. Granted today, 9 months and 14 days. Is this the longest of recent applications?

I have been watching very closely over the past few weeks (for obvious reasons!) and this is the longest wait that I have seen. A full month longer than some at the beginning of the month!

Anyway all's well that ends well. Many congratulations; the rest of your life starts today :smile:

  4. Hi Sandd,

This is my experience. I got my med check done in March 2014 and Police check in April 2014 so was expecting to have to be in Oz before they ran out. I was all set to have to make a trip to activate the visa and then sort out the final move for later this year. My visa was approved 10 Dec 14 and I have to make first entry into Oz by 22 June. Hope that helps.

Wow, you are cutting it a bit fine on the arrival date! I would be too worried that there would be a strike or something that caused an unforeseen couple of days delay

  5. Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has been granted their visa this month, earlier than the expected time frame, on time or late?

The not knowing is difficult. Glad I'm definately not on my own with that!

    Thanks :)

    Hi August,

Look back to page 1083 on this thread where I summarised the status of June 2014 applicants. You will see that some people got their visas granted this month after 8 months and 15 days, whereas mine was at 9 months and 6 days. It is luck of the draw with your CO and their work-load at the time I think.......

  6. I got a phone call from my CO asking me to confirm our planned wedding date (14-Nov-2015), followed by the grant email about 5 minutes later.

It has been a long wait (9 months and 6 days) but at long last, I can make definite plans for flights, shipping of possessions, farewell visits, closing down my UK life etc

    Australia here I come

  7. More grants ahead of the 9 month schedule this week, including a couple on unlucky Friday 13th. I am obviously very disappointed that mine didn't come through but I am genuinely thrilled for everyone who has been lucky enough to receive an early grant this month. Surely next week for me and Jkcotton?

  10. Wow, congrats guys!!!!! Good to hear it s rolling on time

I m counting days and fanatically checking my email as it is the only way for immi to communicate with me.

Once we applied, my partners uk visa was expiring, so we went to travel SE Asia. And now waiting in sydney

In your previous post, you said that you were from a "high risk country" but it appears that you applied to the AHC in London? confused.com

  11. Geez, new June applicants/lurkers now popping out of the woodwork! The list is now -

2 grants today ahead of schedule. Thanks CO's, we love ya

  12. I swore that I wouldn't get into counting down the days/hours to the probable grant of my visa but, having lived through the excitement of the May applicants' grants, I have been well and truly sucked into it!

So I have done some stalking on this thread for the last few weeks and I have identified the following june applicants. Have I missed anyone?

    sarah187 03/03(?) AW

    Rikkeskill 06/06 JM

    drew1975 08/06 WP

    LucySt 08/06 KC

    JonnoM 11/06 KP

    LouiseCT 16/06 WP

    MrsW27 24/06 CO unknown

    Let the excitement commence :jiggy:

Just imagine if this forum didn't exist, we would be totally in the dark, not having a clue whether grants were happening or how much longer we were likely to have to wait.......

  13. Have ve you or bigboi sent an email yet? Really not right that you haven't had your confirmation. My 9 months is up on Friday and my co only works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. So I'm hoping to hear by Wednesday. It said 8-9 months so that's what it should be not a day over!! If I have heard by Friday im going to email. Not sure how to word it without being like WTF! Haha

What my email says is "Please note that the current processing time for partner migration is at least 8 - 9 months from the date you lodged your application."

They put those words in bold, not me!

We aren't in a typical client relationship here as the AHC is in total control of the situation, we the applicants have absolutely no contractual rights and we can't exactly take our business elsewhere!!

Patience is the order of the day
