Thomas.. You think they'd give a chance to interview via skype? People keep saying it's impossible to get an interview sitting in your home country. Do you have any tips or suggestions on how to look for jobs from wherever we are?

Hi all, I guess I'm looking for a bit of piece of mind here. Congratulations to all of you that have received your grant by the way, I'm chuffed for you!
Is anyone else from April still waiting? I'm getting pretty frustrated now. I remained patient when the visa delays meant that a backlog had to be cleared but seeing that May and even June applicants are now getting their visas granted is making me anxious. I still haven't heard anything, be it in my immi account status, via a CO or any e-mail. It's been over 15 weeks now. I'd have thought that if there was a problem, I'd have heard something or been requested to give further docs by now and if they were serious about processing the visas in order of lodgement date, that April frontloaded applicants with no problems would have heard before May and June applicants???
I've tried e-mailing using the contact forms online, but just received an automated response containing a PDF that repeats the same information as the DIBP website and directs me to the published processing times - which is no help now since it's beyond the 3 month guide time. I've tried e-mailing gsm.adelaide@immi.gov.au that someone had posted elsewhere but just received an automated response that told me unless a CO had been allocated I would not receive a reply - not much help when I don't even know if I have been allocated a CO yet.
Yesterday I called the Australia High Commission in London and was told I would have to call the Adelaide Skilled Migration Processing Centre. So, this morning I called at 6.30am (GMT) / 3.30pm (Sydney) and sat in an automated service queue for over an hour. When I gave up and tried re-calling the offices were closed - who knows how long I could have been sat on hold for when there is no one there to even answer the call! I hate to think how much that's going to have cost.
My biggest worry is that, as a teacher, the school year starts end of January and the majority of job vacancies are advertised between July and November. If this takes much longer I won't be in a position to apply for jobs for the new school year and my police check expires in March.
Can anyone offer any advice please...besides being patient, that is?! :ssign16:I did everything myself without a migration agent and I'm hoping that this won't have been the reason for the delay!?
emwatson: The best thing you can do is to call the GSM Adelaide office at +61 131 881 at 8am Adelaide time. This will still take half hour to reach someone. You can always request them to expedite your application quoting your genuine reasons. Chances are high that they will take it up and make a decision as quickly as possible.
I emailed gsm.adelaide & received a auto reply just like how you did after a week or so. But after another week some case officer was kind enough to write to me and explain that my application is being processed. After another week I got my grant. But I had to call and check my status twice before I got my grant.

Did you pay the fees and lodge your visa yet?
-
Hi torrentkid, so as per you my application will not get any Co and it will be directly processed....?
i upfront uploaded medical, pcc and all other documents by 9th May itself...and submitted application on 2nd may....hop to get some outcome in a week or so as its been 13th week...
I'd say you are being very optimistic. Expect your visa by the end of the month. They are still clearing April month's applicants.

There is no more case officer assignment. Your file moves through different teams specializing in validating didn't aspects on your file like education, employment, qualification, etc

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy! I got it.
-
Sure I will. Thanks for that.

Hi torrentkid,
I was just looking at your spreadsheet to see who had been lucky so far but the data appears to be mismatched - it says that I'm in China and I've had my visa granted but that's not the case. Just thought you should know in case it needs fixing.
Has anyone in the April gang heard anything yet? It looks like on the March 190 forum they're starting to come through steadily now so hopefully it won't be much longer for us lot! Good luck everyone!
@emwatson: The second sheet has all been messed up. 190ers are in the first sheet. Would you mind correcting the details yourself & paste it as the last row in the first sheet that says "190 SubClass Visa Applicant".
Or you can let me know your job code, visa lodge date, Sponsoring state, last date of PCC & nationality. You can always choose not to disclose any part of those questions.
Regarding the April fellas, nothing is actually moving forward. No CO allocation too. Yes, like you said the next week we might be able to see some CO allocations to the April gang.

Amazing @eddieb7 . You kept this thread alive & we are going to miss you.

My agent uploaded my documents on 14th Jan from India. I am still waiting for a reply from Vetassess.
This is taking abnormally long? I don't know how long to wait. Anyone facing similar issues?
Parisha -
Parish.. Kindly read the thread subject before posting. This is not a relevant thread for Vetassess timelines. Open a new thread or find a relevant one. Thanks.
-
Same here. Nothing yet.
-
Anyone got any co allocated or any intimation yet?
-
I think you need some proffessional advice from a registered migration agent. Look up Go Matilda
A the moment i can not see you being granted a visa for a number of your dependants. There is also a rule that if you claim a dependant that is refused then the entire application will be refused including yourself. Get some proffessional advice
Can you point to any scenarios where the entire application has been rejected ? I know they can reject based on One-fail-all-fail under health & character reasons, but not anything else.
-
@Sira: You will be allocated one soon as I see that applicants who applied around Mar 8th are getting their case officers allocated.
-
I mean I know states ask for it. So you might want to check the relevant thread. For NSW there was nothing asked to submit as proof.
-
Hi all.
I realise that this thread is for 190 awaiting for their visa. Just a quick question, how much money is required for settlement support funds do I hv to prove on my bank statement. Thanks in advance.
It varies from state to state. For now, I don't see anyone got asked to show proof of minimum funds.

Anyone got a CO allocated yet? I lodged on 3rd April and nothing yet.

Can't think of any other doc. All children biological or step should undergo medicals wether migrating or not.

Hi, I'm a secondary school science teacher and new to PIO but thought I'd share what's happening with us so far, in case it's useful to anyone.
08/03/14 - EOI submitted for myself + partner
21/03/14 - SA state nomination application submitted
15/04/14 - Invitation to apply for 190 received with deadline of 14th June 2014.
16/04/14 - Registered online for an E-medical account and completed the E-visa healthcheck which gave me a HAP ID number and allowed me to book my medicals before lodging the visa application.
26/04/14 - Medicals undertaken - the Panel Doctor advised that the results would be sent through to E-medical/Immi within 1 week.
27/04/14 - 190 visa application lodged and fees paid. I then immediately started uploading/attaching documents and colour scans online for the evidence that was in the document checklist.
05/05/14 - I checked today and the documents have all been identified as "received" whilst a couple are listed as "required", e.g. the medicals stuff, which mustn't have been received yet. The Visa status has changed from "submitted" to "processing".
I know the immi.gov website says about 3 months processing time but this seems to be going through quite quickly. I haven't yet been assigned a CO though.
I'd be interested to hear what other peoples' experiences are.
@emwatson Do you mind letting us know the ANZSCO code you applied for. Also, I have taken the liberty to update your stats here on this sheet. Hope that's ok. I am missing anything please update it, if you are okay with it.

First post from me ever on these forums so thought I needed to step up! Received SA SS start of April and 190 visa lodged 15 April. No emails or co as yet. From this and other forums, get the very strong impression that it will be at least July before any movement now. Waiting for medicals and PCc just now as these are fairly straight forward with minimal waiting list etc. Don't want to start the clock re entrance times just yet. Like some wise fella once said, anything good is always worth waiting for....... Good luck to all others in the same boat.
Yes. I guess it will be July when they start processing the 190s.
May I know your ANZSCO code for the job you are applying ? Also, keep us posted once you get the PCC/Meds done. I guess they are picking applications in the order of expiry of PCC/Medicals whichever is earlier. I have taken the liberty to update your stats here on this sheet. Hope that's ok. I am missing anything please update it, if you are okay with it.

Sorry to break your heart, but there wouldn't be much progress after the documents status changes to 'Received'. It's just a waiting game after that. According to current situation, the visa quota for 2013-14 has all been used up and we have to wait until July 2014 until our applications will be picked up.
Things are different and a little quick for people who's Medicals and PCC are going to be expired soon.
-
We also submitted application for SS in SA on 14/04. Still waiting for Co to be assigned
I guess you are waiting for State Sponsorship. Just so you know, this thread is for people who have already got a SS invitation and lodged their visa in April 2014. You can still follow and post if you have to say anything.

@canberra2014: You can inform the CO about your situation by emailing them and they would surely facilitate to speed up your application. Try doing it. Send them an email explaining your situation in detail.
