  1. I found one who lives across the road from me.

I might go at at it alone, I was just worried about only just moving to dubai from London and not sure if it will cause any problems as my skills assesment and ielts were done there?

I might see if I can get someone in the uk to have a look for me.

    thanks for all the help.

  2. Thx no we've been doing it alone. I'll call oz Monday then see what can be done from there. What a crap day!

Sounds like you had a terrible day! It's just a small obstacle, i doubt it's the first and won't be the last!

  3. Yeah that was it plus clear water bottle with label off! Bizarre! Letter is simple. Last time I had the urge to laugh all the time must have been nerves lol! It's just a ridiculous situation all to gain points!

Please don't laugh tomorrow, it will make me start and then we will get kicked out like naughty school kids!

Agreed, I don't understand how getting all 8's in this is able to give you the same amount of points as having 10 years "skilled" work experience? Anyway it's gotta be done and soon it will all be over and done with (hopefully)!

  4. Wicked! I had an easy topic last time it was about jobs and careers working in HR made it easy for me so I'm hoping for same kind of thing! My worst case scenario will be anything around politics, global warming etc then I'll really have to use the old brain cells! I kept my essay really simple last time intro basically told them what I was going to write then next two paras I told them what I ssaid I was going to and then concluded in final para. Hardest thing was actually writing with no spell check, I used my rubber a lot!! You scored well last time so you should be fine!

Yeah, that was it! Why some chose to stay in the same career and others decide to change.

That's my strategy too, Intro, 2 supporting and a conclusion. The letter was very easy!

I can't remember what we can and can't take in with us? It was just rubber and pencil right?

  5. Cool see you there, I'm reading some sample essays then I'm done! What's your name? I'm kerry! See you in the morning!

I'm Donavan (yes like Jason Donovan)

Reading samples is a good idea, I have just been watching you tube vids of how to get the lay out right. Hope it is on an easier topic this time!

  6. Ha ha yes that was me and that was you! Funny!!

It certainly is a small world!

I guess I will see you in the morning then!

Last minute essay writing prep now and then an early night. Wow I hope this is the last time I have to do this!

  7. I came out at 620 as I went in early!! Were u the guy sitting by finger print passport checker guy? I had red coat on!

That was me! Light blue collared shirt. I don't remember the coat but do recall the tall guy mistaking a Chinese girl for who I think was you?

  8. Hey that's where I did mine!! I was there at 615, I'm in Wimbledon tomorrow too so if you see me say hi!!

i had those topics last time!

Im super nervous too...we CAN smash this!!

Haha, we would have been there at the same time. I went in at about 6.10 and came out at 6.20 or so. Those guys were VERY friendly unlike the last place I did the test!

It will be easy this time, don't worry!

  9. Hey

i sat speaking test last night! Think it went well. Talked about education from very young pupils through to adult learning, cookery and tv.

Now for the rest of it tomorrow!!

I did mine too last night at WSE, went way better than last time! I got asked about history and had to talk about a major event. Also got asked about clothes and mobile phones?

really nervous about tomorrow! I am doing really well on the listening practices.

    Good luck for tomorrow!

  10. According to this document, CCNA is: http://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0018/7641/ANZSCO-Code-Descriptions-1-July-2012-V2.pdf

Vendor/vendor-neutral qualifications appropriate to this occupation:

(this is not an essential or exhaustive list: please refer to guidelines for eligibility)

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CAN), Cisco Certified Network

Professional (CCNP) Oracle (OCA) and Linux Professional (LPIC).

However, I do believe you, as the document related to the Skills Assement (can't find it now) doesn't mention the CCNA at all so I'm unsure of what is accepted or not.

I have a call with a migration agency today at 17:00 to start the process however I was considering a DIY approach but not really keen on getting it wrong. Perhaps agency is the way forward here especially with so many questions

    Hello,

I have recently done my assessment with ACS and emailed them myself with the queries I had before submitting. They replied promptly and are very professional.

You are right though, they do list the CCNA as an example qualification under the ANZSCO code for a Web Admin but do not specify it in the list of qualifications they would compare to an AQF Diploma. The list can be found here https://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0016/7324/Summary-of-Criteria.pdf

When I did my assessment, I had to give them access to my Microsoft transcript to verify my qualifications so you need to do the same for your Cisco certs.

Just send them an email and double check to see if CCNA is accepted and whether it would be accepted if expired.

  11. Will do!

Im a pretty good speller so prob not that I know I got 3 wrong for sure so maybe slipped up on one other which would have given me 7.5. I'm mad it was 0.5 away from gaining 20 points grrr!

Im practising listening and reading tomorrow so will let you know if I come across that sneaky question!

    Hi Kezzles,

I'm in the same boat, resitting on the 12th too. It's frustrating going through the same material for the sake of trying to improve the result by 1 point (0.5 in your case)! Anyway, all the best for your next attempt. Let us know how you get on.

  12. omg i added it up wrong and Im okay....im stressing over nothing...i need a break....sorry!!!!!!

I think i need help from a MA as I cant cope for the next bits!!!

Shame chick! This is a rollercoster ride for sure but it will be worth all the stress in a years time!

  13. I did yes :(

As of this year, my skills assessor slashes 5 years of work experience off before they consider you as being "skilled", So I lose 5 years w/e to claim points on! So I will be doing it all over again.

  14. Hey Donovan did you pass your speaking?!!!

Haha yes :)knew she loved it!

Congrats on your results! You don't have to through that again!:goofy:

I didn't get what I wanted with the listening, then again I am a guy so makes sense!

    Listening:7.0 Reading:9.0 Writing:8.0 Speaking:8.5

  15. I'm in Ireland and you will hear me screaming all the way over there if I get good results!!!!!! Lol

I will definitely be out tomorrow night either to celebrate or drown my sorrows with man flu and all! Good luck!

  16. Sorry. I forgot my manners. Good luck guys. Dondanell I hope you get the results you require. And patiencenurse good luck with yours. I had to do it twice. Wasn't as bad second time around probably because I knew the drill.

    Debs

    Thanks :)

  17. If you're going to check your results online tomorrow they're not available until 12pm. I nearly had a duck egg when I checked mine in the morning time.

    Debs

I thought they would be up the day before you receive the letter so have hit the refresh button a gazillion times today.

Thanks for letting me know! Guaranteed saved a mid morning urge to start drinking!

  18. You will just get a score for each section, and an overall average, just a sheet of paper, no feed back at all

All centers post the results, but some you can look at online if you have your candidate number, it saves a good few hours of anticipation, anyway good luck

    Thanks Scrumpy!

Yeah I think they will be online too. Probably a good thing in a way they don't give any!
