  1. VISA grant 3.32am this morning! Received an email from the CO at midnight replying to a message I sent them back when they first requested additional documents. I explained that I'd sent off for what they wanted and was just waiting in the post. They replied at midnight telling me a decision would be made once I had sent it (I sent it about a day after I sent that email). Then at 3.32 with a grant email. I think this proves that the CO only just read my first email that I sent nearly 2 weeks ago! GET INNNNN

  2. Hey, to be honest im not 100% about my timelines as i didnt really pay attention them but they were to my memory. IELTS March 14 W 7.5,R 9.0,L 8.5, S 9.0- Deemed only 7 average. Carpentry vetassess 23 april passed, EOI 28 april. 190 W.A visa lodged 11July. Granted 17/09/2014. Hope that helps..

Hey awwesome forum for this waiting time... that tracker page is very close to exact.. so stayed tuned to it.. thanks to whoever made it

I am sending some of my positivity to the rest of yous today as i am overflowing! i hope yous get your grants this week my friends

Congratulations Stevie lad! Have you got a link to that tracker?

  3. Hi, we lodged our 190 carpenter visa on 27/06/14, were finally contacted by a CO (via our agent OE Visas) on 11/09/14. PCC forms sent away yesterday and medicals booked for 02/10/14 !!!

I was contacted by CO almost a week ago requesting australian police checks (which we had already sent in the same PDF as the UK police checks) and another form which I uploaded the normal way, I also sent an email to the CO using the address provided explaining that we had already sent the Aussie police checks and now we are just waiting. Even though it's more than likely the CO has recieved the email off me explaining about my australian police checks it's frustrating to not hear any confirmation.. What if they don't see it and the 28 days passes, I suppose I could upload them again as a seperate PDF just to make sure.

  4. Your in WA already I see:) Perth? Thats where im off. lived there for 3 years a few years ago

Me too I came home on a holiday (I was sponsored) 15 months ago and ended up falling in love haha. Gave up a lot but am going to get so much more by being out there together! Couldn't imagine life without her now (soppy I know but I don't care)

  5. Make sure you add your details to the 190 visa tab. Have a look and see when others are being granted, might give you an idea of when you'll get yours. We lodged our 189 on 9th June and have booked flights for 23rd October, although I'm hopeful we'll have our visas by then (otherwise we'll delay them). If you haven't got your 190 visa before your flights how are you going to enter the country?? It might be a bit iffy going with one way flights on a tourist visa.

We have got one way flights but we are thinking about getting flights to Bali to wait there for it to come through.

  6. Hi Biddy17, the tracker isn't one created by DIBP but is an informal spreadsheet that we all have access to and update as appropriate. Add your details x

Aaaah well that explains that then! Thanks very much I will add them. So when do us July lodgers realistically think we will be getting grants then, I'm quietly confident that I'll have my grant by mid to late October. I've actually already booked flights there on the 26th September just decided to throw caution to the wind and go.

  7. Hi Biddy17

thanks for your reply, much helpful.

i will check on the whole MARA approved side of things, there fees from what they have said don't seem to steep but keen to try alone as going over with as much money as possible is key! This company will also try for the 189 and the 190 visa giving better chances I guess?

If I do go it alone I'm going to try for the 189 visa, how was the assessment for you one of our friend has done it along with his English tests which he said the English tests were harder than the assessment !

how come your going for the 190 visa? Is this the one where you get state sponsorship ?

where in the UK are you based and what are your reasons for taking the plunge into the unknown?

The skills assessment was straight forward but I did revise a couple of days before just to make sure I knew exactly what to do. The safe isolation procedure in my opinion is stupid but just do it how they want you to even if you don't agree with it. As for the English test I got proficient English and just missed out on superior by .5 points in the reading section. I went for the 190 visa because that's the only way I could get 60 points required unless I tore the English exam again. But I don't mind anyway as I got the state I was going to live in and a 190 is quite high up the priority list and therefore I believe processing times are shorter (plus I'm pretty sure you are guaranteed an invite if you score 60 points) for me from sending off my EOI to being invited to apply to WA and then being invited to lodge only took a few days!

We are from Sheffield what about you?

  8. Hello mate. I haven't heard of this company before so I can't give you any review so to speak but as long as they are MARA registered if say you are in good hands.

im also an electrician and have lodged my 190 visa last month but unlike you I have gone it alone. A lot of money can be saved by you if you did the skills assessment and language test on your own which would be my advice. But if you think it will be too much hassle then go with an agent I suppose. I think most people mess up on the expression of interests and then when it later comes to lodging the application they realise they have done a few things wrong on their EOI's and then it's panic stations. I'd say that is the most important part because once you have an invitation to apply you have to prove the claims you've made in your EOI such as work experience, quals etc.. Over claiming on anything can be a costly mistake!

anyway you will be happy to know that the skills assessment for us sparks isn't too hard, I did mine last October in London and we made a weekend out of it. Just make sure you get all your dates of employment spot on because you'll need to prove most of it.

which visa will you be applying for?

  9. Thanks for this very helpful reply!

To to be honest with you I actually thought PMV just meant permanent migration visa, I was referring to my 190 that is in processing.

Another question I have then is, what happens if I never get any contact from my CO, whilst I am inside Australia and they just go ahead and grant the visa (or refuse!). Thanks

  10. Hi me and my girlfriend are in the middle of our visa being processed. We have lodged but not yet submitted PCCs and medicals (although we will have them within the next week or 2)

we have plans to visit family in Australia at the end of September and were wondering if it is possible to apply for a tourist visa whilst our PMV is in the middle of processing, also we have noticed there are 3 types, the departments descriptions of them all seem pretty much the same so can anybody clarify which one would be the best to travel on? Also would flights out of the country be required, we have discussed a possibility of staying in Australia if ours is granted whilst we are there. Thanks in advice

  11. Can anybody clear something up for me, when I log in to my immi account there is my application and a tick box, underneath there is a 'submit application' button, I was under the impression I had already submitted this application and that im just attaching documents now which automatically send as soon as they are uploaded.

do I need to press the submit application in order to proceed, when I click on my reference to attach documents, next to my name it says processing so it seems it has already been submitted. im just a bit confused because ive only just noticed the submit button.
