Would also be interested in this once I move over later in the year. I've been playing once a week for about the last 7/8 Months or so although still not very good. Depends on where your based at ?

    Hi

We play at Frankston South at the University on a Tuesday and we play at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex, Cheltenham on a Thursday.

Send me a pm when you arrive.

  2. Want to play casual/social soccer in South East Melbourne?

Have you ever been to a kickabout organised between friends, and not enough people have turned up, it's been poorly organised, too much shouting and no one keeps the score? To add to this, there are no bibs, too many alpha males, everyone wants to play striker, no one keeps time and there is an argument every 5 minutes? Well, join the club!

Have you ever moved to a new city, you hardly know anyone, but you want to have some fun and make new friends?

    THE SOLUTION?

Welcome to SOUTH EAST MELBOURNE SOCCER, we have been running well organised & successful kickabouts for 3 years now. Thanks to word of mouth, we are growing every day, because people like how we do it!

If you want to play football, when it suits you, but you do not want to commit yourself to any team or for long periods of time, then our casual football sessions are for you. Join our ever growing group of footballers, who come down and play. You can play as many times as you want or keep things to a minimum and play once a month! You're in control!!

We work tirelessly to provide a well organised and safe environment for people to come down and play football, hassle free. We are committed to providing the best footballing experience possible, and we are confident, no one does it better.

We have adopted a methodical & systematic approach in all areas of our organisation, this comes from loving what we do, our passion is indeed all things football & our aim has always been to provide the best footballing experience possible.

We keep our fees as low as possible but need to cover the cost of pitch hire, washing of bibs, kit replenishment, general administration, organisation & insurance.

We are your local football network. YOU decide when you play!

  5. I applied for our 186 visa in March, we are still yet to hear anything from Immi.

I was reading through my application online last night and noticed a mistake.

I put down no to this question when I should have put yes..

Has the applicant completed, or is currently enrolled in, any studies at secondary level or above?

Do you think I should contact them or will it not be an issue?

    cheers

  7. Hi,

A bit of an old thread I know but did any casual football games manage to get organised. Currently living in St Kilda and would love to start playing football again.

Hi mate, up for a game of 8 a side tomorrow evening?

can you get to Cheltenham. 20 minutes in the car.

  8. I submitted my 186 visa last week, today I had a message to attach the (payment)declaration form. I didn't attach it initially as it wasn't listed in the additional docs.

Can anyone shed some light on where I attach it.

    cheers

  9. I'm in the process of uploading my certified docs to my online 186 application. The docs I have certified are...

    Passport

    Driving Licence

    Birth Cert

    Marriage Cert

    Spouse Passport

    Child Passport

    Tenancy Agreement

    Spouse Birth Cert

    Child Birth Cert

Is there anything else I need to certify as I can't find a definitive list anywhere.

    Cheers

  10. Hi

I submitted my online 186 visa application yesterday. I can see where they ask for the documents to be uploaded but can't see anything regarding form 47a & form 80.

Do they ask for these independently? And if so do you have to post them in as form 80 is a big form to scan.

    cheers

  11. Hi

I've just had a new passport arrive. The Immi website says you can update your details through your Immi account online.

I can't for the life of me see anywhere in my account where I can fill in the 929 form online

Has anyone had any luck doing this and possibly point me in the right direction.

    Cheers

  12. Hi

Are any of you still looking to get involved in playing football?

We play a competitive social game every Thursday at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex in Cheltenham.

please send me a PM for more info.

  13. Will you have been on a 457 for 2 years in January with the same company in the same role and your job is on the CSOL? If so would your company be prepared to sponsor you for PR via a 186 visa which would allow you to bypass the skills assessment completely?

Yes to all of that. What is the advantage other than missing out the skills assessment of going down the company nomination route. I worked out it would cost around $11k for the 3 of us doing it that way. Isn't the state sponsorship a cheaper way of doing it.

  14. I have been here two years in January, I've just read that my skill(job) is on the state sponsorship list.

Can anyone give me some advice on applying for the above visa from a 457 please.

I have read that they will require trade qualification/certificates. Since arriving my current employer has not put me through the same Telecommunications courses that I did in the UK. My UK tickets have all now expired but I was wondering if I could use these expired tickets as proof of my trade qualifications?

    Any advice much appreciated.

  15. This has now moved to a Thursday evening, every week at 8:30.

The group is now 45 strong. We usually have between 16 to 22 guys turning up every week, we then choose two teams.

We have the option to go full pitch if need be.

It's outdoor under floodlights, all balls, bibs, nets provided.

Great bunch of lads, new players turning up all the time, not everyone can make it every week, hence the size of the group.

$10, we have a warm up then play for 90 minutes.

It's at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex, Cheltenham.

Please send me a message if you're interested.

    Cheers

  17. We moved to Melbourne last January, before leaving we forgot to stop our child benefit.

It was still paid into our Halifax account in the UK. In May we wrote to them and told them we emigrated in January and had still been receiving the benefit.

They wrote back to us to say it was now cancelled and that we didn't have to pay back the overpayment.

Today we've had a letter from them saying they never received a reply from us and that they want the £468 back in full otherwise they will start legal proceedings!

I'm in work now but I'm pretty sure we would have thrown out the original letter from them.

As it's the HM Revenue involved what should I do?

Surely they would have the original letter on file somewhere?
