  1. Hi all! We had our visa medical done in the 8th of April for our 189vis and the Dr said it would be uploaded at the latest by the 10th. It still says requested on our immi account! Is this normal? Do I need to e mail my case officer to tell them it's been done! So worried im

nit doing something that I should be!!!

    Thanks for any advice!!

  2. Hi there everyone! At what point does form 80 get requested? We lodged our 189 in feb 2nd and was asked for police checks and medicals last week which we have done! How long once these last things are uploaded does the visa get granted? Fingers crossed it does!! Good luck to you all, it's soooo exciting! And scary x

  3. I'm having a slight panic! A major panic actually! I previously held a 189 visa when I was going to come to Oz with my ex about 10 years ago. We validated the visas then came home, long story short we split up and aus was forgotten about. I haven't seen or heard from him since. I've been told by an agent that having had a previous visa would not impact my new application. What if he used it to go out there? Would that cause an issue? It has expired now obviously but just worried this might cause problems? Any advice welcome!! Thanks in advance

  4. Hello! I've got registration and I have a top up degree! You can only do the bridging program by first applying to Ahpra, then they refer you to do it! Alternatively if you are paeds, mental health or learning disabilities you may be eligible for reg with a period of supervision without the need for a top up degree! Adults require top up! All that said, ahpra change there minds a lot and are as helpful as a chocolate teapot! Good luck with it all!! Xxx

  5. So I'm confused about how many points I can claim in my eoi. I'm told mat leave doesn't count but when I put employment dates in my eoi, because I was still employed in mat leave it gives me 65 points! Was going to claim 60 to be safe, do I just shave 2 years off my experience ? If I claim 65 and they say I only have 60 will I get refused even though I still have 60?

sorry to ramble, don't want to get it wrong!

    Thanks in advance!!!

  6. Hi!

looks like it's going to be late 2015 for us too! Was going to be 2016 but ahpra came through quicker than expected!

it will be me, (paeds nurse) hubby and 2 children. Hopefully moving to perth area or the surrounds! Haven't quite decided yet, all depending on where the work is really! Getting very scared now though!! :-)

  7. Hi there! We've just started to consider geraldton as a possible place we could live! I'm a nurse and I'm told the hospital there has jobs!

So my queries are, does it get decent internet connection ? Enough for Skype?

is it possible to get overseas deliveries like m&s and next? I know people get them in perth but just wanted to check! And would ikea charge an arm and a leg to deliver there?

Is the cost of living on a par with perth suburbs?

Any my more info greatly appreciated! Sorry if my questions seem a little silly, I really have no clue!! :-)

    thanks, bouncy x

We would be looking to get a camper out there anyway so wondered if it's worth it this way? Can you put it in a container with the rest if our belongings? Sorry a bit clueless!! Any help appreciated!!

  9. Hi there, I've been positively assessed by anmac who say that my work experience counts from 2005 to 2014, I informed them I had 2 years off for mat leave but that isn't mentioned . They also say in brackets working 23 hours from 2010 to 2014. So how many years can I claim points for? Do I take out the mat leave bringing me to 7 years? And what about my part time hours 23 he's per week? Confused !!!! Again!

thanks got any advice, much appreciated x

  10. Thanks for this, great read! As a nurse, it's good to read nurses getting jobs and the cost of living not being too much of a shock! These are my main worries! Sounds like it's all going really smoothly, long may it continue for you and your little fella.

  11. Hi guys, so I'm taking the plunge and entering the black hole that is AHPRA!!!! I'm compiling my cv (because they ask for it but probably don't look at it) and wondered do I need to include stuff like gcse results? Or just the nursing related quals? Also I've done the IELTS so do I need to fill in the education in English bit ? My school is gone now so couldn't get anything to prove I was taught in English!! Any advice much appreciated!!

  12. Thanks danny842003, great, I need to find a solicitor who is running low on biscuits!! Ha! Hi Kelly, I'm just trying to work out how to keep costs down, was going to duplicate some if the ahpra stuff for visa but each copy costs so if I can use a solicitor I'll just get the stuff I need for ahpra from the notary and a mate of mine is a solicitor who'll do them for nothing, which is great. Kelly have you been invited to apply for your visa yet?
