  1. Hi everyone, I have applied ahpra since May and all additional document has been well received on late sept, and I have sent a email one week before asking about my situation but my case officier never reply me. What do you guys suggested I can do? Feeling hopeless..thanks

keep ringing and pestering them every day as they have to log all the calls!!!!

  2. Hi guys I've been reading the last few pages of this thread ... We'll the last 7 pages ... And a lot of people with whom ahpra are taking along time with is diploma trained ... Just wondered what degree trained timelines are like ? I sent mine off on the 1/12/14 to the NSW Sydney branch

    thanks in advance xx

It seems to vary considerably for different people, my wife has the degree and the Masters units for Nurse Prescribing and it took APHRA 8 months to issue the registration. It was quite frustrating and she nearly lost the job offer because they took so long.

  3. We arrived in Perth mid July 2014 and managed to secure a 3 month furnished rental in a 4x2 house in Currambine NOR. The property is tastefully furnished and very well located being close to Currambine railway station (6 min walk) and then only a 30 minute ride to the city. Joondalup centre is less than 5 minutes drive away with the vast lakeside shopping mall and beaches are less than a 5 minute drive in the opposite direction. The owners of the property were very attentive to our needs and were very helpful in helping us settle into our new lives downs under.

I am a Yorkshire man and watch my pennies closely, I did a lot of research on short term rental properties and believe I found a bargain on this property which included all bills.

I appreciate the forum rules do not allow advertising of private properties but should any one want the details of this property I will quite happily provide them if you Private Message me.

As a fellow Poms in Oz I feel it is my duty to share my good experiences with others.

  4. eek. harrowing wait for registration for all.. which minister for health are you thinking of contacting? i am a south Afican trained nurse and ANMAC passed me, i am just waiting for AHPRA to play the game too. i am moving to Aus next month and wonder if the reg will come through by then and if a minister/ Australian High Commisioner can help in any way. The final forms for internationally trained nurses were received in August..Suggestions?

Does ANYone have good news from AHPRA this year?

yes, wife applied Feb 2014 and received registration early Sept 2014. she rang them twice a week, sent emails etc

I think the time and motion people need to do an audit on APHRA - headless chickens comes to mind!!!

  5. There may be some hope at last for UK diploma nurses (from mental health, childrens and learning disability nursing branches...)

This has been uploaded on the NMBA website under the FAQ section and I have also been following AHPRA's twitter feed which confirms this. Take a look at question 9 on the following link

    http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Codes-Guidelines-Statements/FAQ/FAQ-IQNM-migration.aspx

I hope this helps with some peoples worries/anxieties - I'm currently awaiting an outcome from my application, it went to the NMBA board on the 07/08 and I was told I would have an outcome in 2-3 weeks but AHPRA now have a backlog of getting the outcomes sent out (shocking I know...), I don't think I've ever come across a government body with as many backlogs as AHPRA!

Here's hoping for positive results for everyone.

    Joe :)

    Backlogs!!!

APHRA is meant to be a Professional Regulatory Government Body representing a Caring Profession and they themselves are the total opposite
