Climate seems to be very nice and I can adapt to it easily. Many opportunities for potential worker. Work-life balance can maintained easily. Attractive places for site seeing, travel, photography, etc. Education in NT is recognised worldwide, and has interdisciplinary streams. Medical facilities are available and can be reached easily.

I have also attached detailed document indicating my interest in NT."

I believe this is not good enough, please advise.

Oh sorry to hear that aksahdaks, Mine i still havent re-applied but my agent said it can be re-applied within two weeks,but one of the friend from this forum advised me to call the NT departmant directly to check with them,as he had already done this and they have asked him to re-apply immediately,may be i would advice you to do that.

 

Is there any reasons ststed on your rejection application?, all the best and dont give up...

I am sorry to hear the above news Aksahdaks. Did they give you any reasons? I'm afraid I cannot help you with your query about reapplying as I came through a different route. As you know, I am very new to Oz myself. But on PIO I'm sure there are threads relating to your query. Would it be worth considering an agent for your next application? Just a thought.

Good to see you are enjoying. I am still waiting for SS invite, it's been a week after acknowledgement, fingers crossed.

The build up has begun...the humidity is rising...if any of you are old enough to remember Tarzan comics there was an oft repeated line...old jungle saying...similarly, old Darwin saying (I'm making this up) ....in Darwin, even sweat sweats!

I am in the process of having my skills assessed for the 190 state sponsorship under the occupation of HR Advisor. As my job is on the CSOL list schedule 2 I require a company to employ me for a period of 12 months, which is pretty much impossible in my occupation to get while in another country. Therefore I have come to Australia on a WHV and have been offered a position.

 

The problem we are having is that the company are restricted to offer me a contract any longer than 6 months due to me being on a WHV but I need a 12 month contract for the 190.

 

Does anybody have any solutions? Or have you encountered this before and what did you do?

Greetings ! I am still single, and so will be moving alone for now. Hows your exp with Darwin so far.

Good to hear it's going well. We've had a great dry season, can't believe it's still breezy and pleasant in late August!

Thanks for reply. Yes I will be coming by my own, alone. Once I get SS I shall apply for subclass 190. Till I find the job there, I am ready to stay in shared accommodation or hostels, any option which is cheaper.

Are you coming on your own or will you be coming with family? Will you be staying in a unit / flat or house or are you okay to stay in shared accommodation - like backpackers hostels? As I said above, I am very new to Darwin, so if you give more information, others will come along and help you with your queries.

 

If you want to stay in backpackers hostels - the Darwin Youth Hostel Association hostel in the city centre offers a single room with en-suite for under $40 per night (so under $300 per week) - it has an outdoor unheated pool, internet (wifi) access and is close to bus access.

 

You may wish to look at other types of accommodation by going to www.realestate.com.au/rent

Each company has different format/template, attached is mine which I finished yesterday then sent to Case officer you can refer to.

 

Please provide evidence of your work experience in your nominated occupation, or a closely

related occupation. Evidence can include:

 

● Certified copies of your work references for any positions held during the relevant

period. Your work experience references must meet the following requirements:

❍ the reference should show the official letterhead of the company or government

department providing the reference.

 

❍ the letterhead should indicate clearly the full address of the company and any

telephone, fax numbers, email and website addresses

 

❍ the name and position of the person authorised to sign the employment reference

should be typed or stamped below that person's signature – a reference with only an

illegible signature will not be accepted

 

❍ the direct contact number of the person writing the reference should be included in

the letter

 

❍ the letter should indicate the exact period of employment, including whether

permanent or temporary, full or part time, position/s held, the main five (5) duties

undertaken, and the salary earned – positions should not be described by generic

titles (for example, research officer, public servant) but according to the nature of

the duties undertaken (for example, research chemist, accounts clerk).

I am in middle of writing "Employment Reference" for the ACT nomination. Your assistance would be grateful.

As per the instructions, "Attach current employment reference(s) supporting recent, relevant work experience in the nominated occupation. The length of work experience is not mandated but it must be clear that you have enough experience in your nominated occupation to be employable in Canberra."

Can anyone please let me know about what to write in this section. Any samples/templates would be handy.
