  1. Hi there - not sure if this is the best place to post, but currently in the process of submitting EOI for 189. I was wondering if anyone has had experience of being at this stage when o/h is pregnant.

My IELTS & SA completed - so unsure whether to submit EOI now knowing that we will delay o/h medicals until after birth in March or wait until say Jan to submit EOI. Currently considering submitting EOI, processing everythng except o/h medicals and then after birth, completing o/h medicals and submitting change of circumstances form to assigned case officer.

The only sticking point is the period to activate the visa - we are getting conflicting advice. Can anyone clarify whether the period of activation for the visa is 12mnths from the visa approval/grant or 12 mnths from the completion of the medical/police checks?

Thanks in advance - the brain is going mushy!

I was pregnant when applied for 190 visa, delayed MED until the baby was born, for the whole family and even asked our CO to allow us to upload new PCC so that we could have the later entry date, so we submitted PCC again, together with the Med. And the advantage was that, believe it or not we did not have to pay visa fee for the newborn ;)

  2. Hi ;)

First, I was called to do the Med, and I attached Change in circumstances form, where I informed my CO that I was pregnant and asked for the delay in Med. Co approved , and instructed me to notify him when the child is born, so that the Co can add him to the application and create his HAP Id for the Med. When our son was born, I made him a passport and BC, sent them to our CO, and he added him to the application, and gave him HAP ID. Then, we did our Med and received the grant.

  3. Yes you can, with two different e-mails, I did it, so I know. When you put your identification document, put one for one EOI, like passport number, and another one for another EOI, like birth certificate number. BUT ! You do not need to do so, because VIC is the only state which does not request EOI for SS application and approval. I got VIC SS without EOI, and they responded within 24 hours.

My advice is to make one EOI for the time being , and apply for SA, and to make a SS application to VIC without making EOI.

    Good luck .

  4. Got the grant e-mail today

I called first Brisbane team, spoke with some CO ( not ours ), he checked our data and told us that we would receive the e-mail within 5 minutes. Initially, our team was 34, but got the approval from CO Team 33.

I would recommend everyone to call them, or to send them an e-mail, as that CO told us that it was good that we called, because they are stuffed with work, and unless people call them, they would have to wait for a visa grant.

  5. I have received an e-mail from my CO. She said that medicals for my family are received but my are not finalized yet. She received our new PCC and told us which entry date we would have upon a successful grant of our visa application. I called Belgrade panel doctors to check, our doctor said that they have sent my assessment, so now we are waiting every day for a grant .

  6. Called the Belgrade Panel Doctors yesterday, they could not upload my Medicals, because the system in Australia did not update and to them it seems like I am still pregnant, and need Hepatitis B test, but CO did not ask for it, so I do not need it. The doctor said it is common, and that she has sent the request to correct it, so that the Medicals could be uploaded. Today is the last day for doing our Medicals, I am frustrated because it got stuck, but the doctor assured me that the 28 days do not count as to when the Medicals should be over, they should be started within 28 days. Anyone had similar experience ?

  7. Our team is Brisbane 34, we are waiting for the Medicals to be over, we called Belgrade panel doctors, they told us that tomorrow the results will be ready, that means on Thursday CO will receive them. We are hoping for immediate approval after that.

  8. I agree with arq, people who would like to apply for 489, invested a lot of time and money, as well as we on 190 visas, or people on 189 visas. It would be fair to tell them in advance that only 15 people per round would receive the invitation, and that not all occupations would be eligible for that visa. Australian assessment bodies received money for assessments people did, believing that they would have a real chance for applying for that visa.

  9. @Spincsuraj GSMBrisbane , Visa Processing Officer J.C. He replied. Our CO was P.M. as well and she was great. I am satisfied with the quick response I got from J.C. , 7 days, and I have sent only one e-mail. They allowed us to get new PCC, so that we can get the same entry date with the Medicals.
