  1. Hi, can anyone help. I'm waiting for AHPRA to make a decision on my application, which they have delayed twice. Am now awaiting a decision by mid November, but feeling incredibly anxious. I am a uk based mental health nurse, have obtains a Bsc degree, followed by a dip HE MH nursing, and another postgrad diploma more recently. Have been qualified since 2003, however I have been reading threads that AHPRA are refusing uk diplomas. Has anyone met the requirements? I am considering going down the counselling route if AHPRA fails me.

Hi there, I also qualified with a diplomas in MH nursing in 2004, also have a BSC in dementia . I was registered last year with no conditions. Prit1980, did AHPRA tell you the reason for the delay? My OH is waiting for a decision too. We have the same qualifications, went to the same uni, ahpra is asking for marks in each module which the uni can't provide. They didn'ta ask me to provide this last year.

  2. For some reason I still haven't received my police certificate, have been waiting for more than 12 working days. I was given 28 days to upload all documents. I have emailed my CO asking for an extension. Do they normally give an extension ?? Now very worried .. My deadline is 31st Dec.

  3. Wonder if anyone know the answer to this, my OH has decided not to emigrate. CO requested Form 80 and medicals last week. I am the main applicant, if I withdraw his application will it affect my visa grant? I am still to check how I go about withdrawing his application.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  4. Hi I suggest you sent the online enquiry, I was sending one every week as well as phoning them every week. This worked for me. Stu.... is right. i applied in april and my LOE came through in nov. I am diploma trained with a a degree. Don't give up phoning or sending the online form....best wishes.

  5. Just to add my experience. I'm a midwife who came to Oz on OH 457 visa. I applied for 20+ jobs in the area which I live and never even got an interview, so I started calling for feedback. I was told that on a 457 I would not even be considered and that citizens and PR are always considered first and that I would never get a job on 457 as all the posts would be filled as I was on the bottom of the pile.

So for 6 months post registration I did nothing, but in the meantime applied for PR. As soon as I got PR I applied for jobs again and was offered 3 within a week and one from my local hospital who had previously turned me down. So now I'm working but what a waste of time for me and them, where I work now is always short of staff but on the 457 I simply was never offered anything, they would rather be short staffed than employ someone on a 457, sorry but this is fact.

You need PR, Aussie look after their 'own' first.

    Good luck all

    Tina

    Hi Tina

when you send your CV to hospitals do you register on their website and upload your resume? I am coming on a PR and I am not sure where to start looking for jobs. I am a RMN.

    thanks

  6. Nursebucko, I also uploaded colour documents uncertified. I think it's best to declare that you suffer from depression and are on citalopram. This is unlikely going to affect your medicals results.

Yes your husband need to prove his ability to speak english. I am not sure if a british passport is sufficient evidence, I would double check on this!
