You'll probably be fine with 4 weeks, and you can always extend if not.
The thought I had about that is, where we decide to rent, probably would be booked after our stay was up.
I didn’t want to keep moving because it would be a lot for the children to deal with.

Thank you, I was going to do 4 weeks but then panicked it wasn’t enough.

My family are moving out in March next year. I am looking at properties to rent for when we initially get there.
How long would people recommend I need to book this first rental for?
We have not decided on a suburb yet, we intend on driving around until we can find where we want to live.
Also I don’t know how long or difficult it is to find a rental once you are living in Perth.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Familyof4 I have same situation as you I.e I need to breach initial entry date and my understanding per notice 8504 is that I do not actually need to enter by that date and visa will not be cancelled if I do not enter by the initial date. Did you breach the entry date and if you did, did you have any visa issues because of it? Thanks
Hi Craigriach
We still have not moved. Our initial entry date has passed. I have sent a 2 emails to Immigration to try to get it clarified but no reply yet.
If I ever get a reply or when we make the move, I will update this thread to let you all know!!!

I have a case officer and have now waited 10 days for them to look at one extra document (or so it seems!) which will be accepted ie PCC!
Hi benj19810
Is it worth sending them an email to check they did receive the PCC?
It doesn't make any sense how things can be turned around so quickly when they get the info they requested and others are not. So it does make me wonder if it has not be received.

Just to put a cat among the pigeons!!!
I have received a reply back from immigration stating the following
The grant of your General Skilled Migration visa included the following visa condition:
8504 The holder must enter Australia as the holder of the visa to which the condition applies before a date specified by the Minister.
This condition requires an initial entry into Australia by each visa holder be made before the date specified in the “Visa Grant Notice” provided to you when your visa was granted.
General Skilled Migration is aware that you and/or your family members who were granted a visa as part of your application may not comply with this condition.
Failure to comply with visa conditions can render a visa liable for cancellation under the Migration Act 1958 and visa holders are encouraged to make their first entry by the initial entry date.
General Skilled Migration; however; has no objection to visa holders travelling to Australia in breach of condition 8504 and will not seek to cancel a visa where the only reason for doing so would be the breach of this condition.
So it is saying that actually you dont need to enter Australia before the first entry date because they will not cancel your visa!!
Now then, do you risk it or not!!!

It is such a costly exercise!

Thank you. I appreciate the quick reply.

We have been granted our 189 visa. We don't think we will be able to move before the date it says on the visa, so are needing to fly out to validate it.
Are we able to fly into any airport in Australia and then fly back immediately? I know it sounds ridiculous but we can't afford to stay so we probably wouldn't even leave the airport!

Yippee we finally got our grant this morning!!!
Let the moving stress begin!!!

Congratulations Tavio.

My OH is also self employed. We do use an accountant but he also did a statutory declaration containing what he does, how his business started and grown, what tools he uses etc. and then signed it in front of a solicitor.
The best thing to do is check with your agent.

We are all watching the information on this spreadsheet, take a look and you will soon become obsessed like the rest of us!!!
-
I think google drive documents sometimes take a moment or three to refresh. You have added your details successfully by the look of things (twice, in fact, presumably because you didn't believe it the first time!)
You're doing better than me, I can't even find a submit button!
edit: Oh, there it is!
Thank you, it has now changed this morning and is now in the right place in the list.

I have been trying to add our details on the tracker spreadsheet but they dont seem to save them when I have pressed submit.
Can anyone give me advice?

I have just started this form today as well. I feel exactly the same as you!!!
We have not been asked to do it, we are just getting it ready in case.
Do you only fill in 1 form, because it makes references to who is on the visa with you or do all people over 16 need to complete one?

Hi
I applied on 9th Jan for 189 plus my husband and daughter. I am just about to tackle Form 80 and get that front loaded. Does anyone know if I need to do one for my husband too? Also, I have been trying to put my timeline in my signature for the past week but I cant see how to do it anywhere! Can anyone help!?
Thanks,
Clare
If you go into settings at the top of the page, then go into signature.
You can put your timeline in there.

where abouts does it say recieved? I can't find mine, the only thing I have is the form that says completed!! Should I be worried?
It doesn't say received, it says health has been finalised for this person.
Just check under the health requirements.
Dont worry it will be there in the next few days.

Yes it is a click of the button but they told us the X-rays and blood had to go off, then when they came back the results would be checked by a doctor. They said we were looking at about a week before the results would be received in oz. So just surprised it was so quick. It is a nice thing to have part of this process to be quick, everything else seems to have taken a long time!

I cant believe how quickly our medicals were to get back to Australia.
We had them done on Tuesday and they are showing as received in my Immiaccount.
Now that is what I call service!!!!!
-
If you go to this page and click invitation rounds, it shows you the dates.

You can get your medicals done before they request for them.
You get the HAP ID when you log into your immi account and select medicals in your application.
If I were you, I would get them done ASAP because you are in with a chance of being able to validate your visa when you go on holiday.

Just uploaded our police certificates. Our medicals are booked for the 17th Feb.
Nearly there!!!

Thanks for the reply. I'm currently on 65 points and I know I could be invited on 60 but would rather have as many as possible. My birthday is mid July so know I am pushing it. I have all the information for the skills assessment ready to go (although waiting time is 10 weeks once they receive everything) I just need to get approval from AITSL before proceeding with anything else. Xx
If you are serious I think you should book your IELTS sooner rather than later just in case you don't get the score you need.
How long for first rental
