  1. Well we didn't receive any written acknowledgement but payment was taken sharpish (2 days after posting) so I guess that's a clear acknowledgement in it's way. No communication yet but I don't expect any now until after the Christmas break. The main thing is that we squeaked in before the price hike. Good luck everyone and congrats to those recent grants. Happy Christmas and best of luck for speedy visa grants in the new year!

If you don't receive an acknowledgement in the New Year then I would chase it up. I never received any acknowledgement when I submitted my application and I made the mistake of not chasing it up until weeks afterwards. It turned out that I had in fact been assigned a case officer who then emailed me for further info, but for whatever reason I never received the original email. It turned out alright in the end, but I think that caused a few weeks extra delay for me in getting my visa granted.

  2. Hi Everyone

    VISA GRANTED this morning!!

I applied for my visa on June 18th so I had to wait the full 6 months. My case officer was VF and I really had to hound her this week via email and telephone otherwise I think I'd still be waiting. The last few weeks were the worst, but I can finally relax now.

I do feel for everyone still waiting, but you just have to hang in there. It's amazing how a simple email can change your life!

Anyway thanks to everyone for all your contributions on this forum. I feel like we're all kept in the dark at times, but this forum certainly helps tremendously.

Good luck to all those still waiting.

  3. "I know I have read on here that Aus House is closed from 21st Dec... But I cant find that on their website... and I am hoping that they are only closed on the public holidays (which is states on the Aus High Commission website)"

You can find the list of holidays at the following link:

    http://www.uk.embassy.gov.au/lhlh/Holidays.html

Friday 21st is their last day of business.

  4. We're still waiting. according to the ss there are 5 before us still waiting, 2 have AB, but aren't active users so I'm assuming they have been granted, just not updated, 2 others aren't active users either. 6 after us have been granted, and I am beginning to go a little nuts . Today puts us at 5 months, 2 weeks and 4 days. All we have been told in 'closer to 6 months'. This is the most frustrating wait I have ever endured.

It was driving me nuts too so I contacted my case officer VF to ask if she would grant my visa before AH closes on 21st and she said "yes contact me again the week starting 17th." So by the time i get my visa it will have taken the full 6 months.

  5. It's great to see so many June applicants finally getting their visas. I do wish there was a bit more consistency with the timeframes though because from this forum alone a number of people have got their visas within 5 months when I was told 6 months & these same people applied after me. Im hoping my case officer was just giving me the worst case timeframe as this wait is hellish

  6. I lodged my application on 18th June and was told 5-6 months. I contacted my case officer today (VF) since it is now 5 months and she replied back "We are looking at the end of the December." The embassy is closed from 24th December - 2nd January so if she doesn't grant it before the xmas period then I guess it will be January before I get it. My husband is in Australia and we have been apart since June. As you can imagine each day is a drag so I'm very disappointed to receive this email from my CO.

  7. Hi I applied for a partner 309 visa on 18th June. I was advised by my case officer VF on 2 October that no further info was required. Since her email my husband has changed employers for a better job. Do I need to inform her of this change by completing the form 1022 (Notification of Change in Circumstances)? The form doesn't detailed what sort of changes I should be advising my CO of.
