Hi, can you give me an idea of when it gets light/dark in the spring/summer/winter and autumn in Perth so I can get a general idea od how many light nights we will lose when we move to Perth please.

We are will be arriving in Perth in September with our 3 year old Rottie she currently does agility and obedience classes. I was just wandering if there are many classes for dogs agility and obedience? Also what the expenses of a looking after a dog in Perth are compared to Uk.
Insurance
Food ( do they have eukanuba?)
Vet bills
Also is there many agility classes for dogs SOR?
Are dogs allowed off lead?

Thanks for the tip. This will save me a lot of cash from not replacing items as they all add up when buying new.

I am currently a full member of the AAT in Uk, has this qualification been any good to anyone in Perth cause the information I see is it dosent stand for much in Australia? I am just scared I will be classed as just a accounts clerk when looking for employment.

I am in the middle of working out what to ship and what to leave. Is it the case of anything you ship from Uk you can you go to Bunnings pick up some Austrialian plugs and swap the plugs? Its just if I am shipping a container I dont see the point of leaving electrical items unless they wont be any good to me in Perth. The items I am thinking of are:
Hairdryer, Tongs
Kettle, Toaster
Tumble dryer
Nutribuillet
Microwave
Alarm Clocks
Lamps
Drill
Jigsaw

Have you got a visa yet? I think there will be opportunities for your hubby and you in Perth. There are quite a few boat places around and plenty of car repair places.
We already have a 176 perm resident visa.

Hi Zoe.
Yep, I think you will struggle to find Australians who are familiar with AAT although there are a lot of people from the UK in Perth so it's not impossible that a prospective employer will know what it is.
Your experience is probably more important though. What is it you do/have done at the refinery e.g. Purchase/sales ledger, management accounting, cash & banking etc?
I currently work in cash & banking, but I have experience in p & s ledger, payroll and general all rounder accounts with 20 years experience.
I hoping to go on to CA or CPA once in Perth.

From what I have discovered so far, it depends on where you are in Australia and what you do job wise.
Where we live, my line of work is hugely in demand, hence I found a sponsor easily, however, my OH has not been able to get any work since we
moved here. The one bonus of Australia, again depending on where you live, you may be able to survive on just one wage to start.
Sorry I forgot to say we are wanting to go to SOR Perth what line of work are you in?

Please any advice will be very helpful postive or negative. Myself and my hubby have put the house on the market leaving very good jobs in UK. Its just I keep reading negative comments on employment. I work for a refinery in the Accounts department and I am AAT qualifed but this dosent seem to equate to much in Australia any advice on this would be helpful especially on the currect job market.
Huby line of work is t vehcle mechanic/boats so any advice on this would also be appreciated.
