  1. So finally it's the time to celebrate. PR GRANTED THIS EVE.

nomination applied and visa: 6th July

    nomination approved: 7th October

    medicals requested: 7th October

    Medicals submitted: 13th October

    visa grant: 16th October

this forum has been very helpful. No 2 years exp shown. Occu painting and decorating. However I put a cover letter from ANZSCO regarding 2 years ON JOB TRAINING.

Wish good luck to everyone. Don't loose and give up. This was my 2nd attempt as first there were few docs missing and my nomination was refused.

    Cheers kam

    Awesome! Congratulations.

I think you wouldn't mind though explaining a bit why your 1st attempt failed. What docs were missing? Did they ask for it and it couldn't be provided? Or they refused out of the blue?

It'd be really helpful to most of people to avoid making the same mistakes I believe.

    Congrats again!

  2. ^^ Just re posting given that i didn't get a reply. Really interested in knowing how applying with a de facto partner changes the game, e.g: time for decision etc.....

Hey PM1111 - I don't think it affects your application. You may be required bit more info of course, but it's nothing really far from someone who's married in paper.

Is your partner under the same 457 visa as you?

I'm on defacto relationship as well for the past 6 years, and on same 457 visa. It wasn't a problem 2 years ago, and it shouldn't be now. We've just accumulated more stuff to prove we're still together and going strong. :-)

My nomination has been in progress, but I'd expect to be approved end of this year only as it has been just 2 weeks now.

  3. I'm following this thread quietly for some time. In two weeks time I complete 2 years in a 457 visa.

My employer has sorted out everything for the nomination and he'll put it through when time comes.

I first had in mind I'd send the application with the nomination at the same time. However, if the nomination is refused, I'd have to withdraw and would lose a fair amount of money (me + wife). I feel comfortable with the nomination being approved, even because we have few more people on 457 atm.

My doubt is: why do you guys put the nomination and application at the same time? And how many of you applied after nomination is approved?

Thanks all and good luck to everyone!
