Just wondering if there are any 30 something Indians born in England who are in Brisbane or moving to Brisbane looking to make new friends? Myself and my husband are both working professionals with two children (7,9) and have been over here for 4 years. 

We have made lots of lovely friends here from lots of different backgrounds. People are really friendly. Just missing having people from a similar cultural background a bit though.

We just arrived in Brisbane 2 weeks ago. There's myself 35, hubby 38 and two children aged 3 and 5. Big move living in a new place not knowing anyone.

Would be great to make connections with other young families in a similar situation.

Bad news for me, my medical has been cleared but my partners medical has been referred, looking like im in for a long wait, im only on a toursit visa at the moment over here in oz. not wanting to wait a couple months before i can start work so i think im going to hop over to NZ to apply for a working holiday visa then re-enter. more money. more problems.

Hey Rob, we had a medical referred but it took only took a few weeks to be cleared by MOC. Good luck!

After submitting my medicals ad police checks, my CO has asked me for some documents again (IELTS,UK Cert,Australian Employment proof).

 

Was wondering why, as she's got it all already i thought?

So I got hubby to zap the car with the raid spray and he has to drive it for at least a month before I will contemplate getting back in!

Fortunately we have a second car. Knowing my luck it'll pop back out when I do eventually get back in :unsure:

I completed and uploaded form 80 too. Very tedious but usually required.

When/where will you be moving to Akara?

We submitted everything except for Oz police certificate which C/O requested and medicals. One of our medicals got referred. MOC must've cleared their backlog as it got cleared pretty fast.

Definitely worth the email!

So I took Summit's advice and emailed my C/O to see if she had heard anything more about our medicals and 2 hours later we've got our GRANT!! :jiggy:

LMAO at your story JMG. You clearly wouldn't have been much use today lol.

So today I collected the post, opened the car door to put it into my handbag and there was an ugly white tail spider on the passengers seat, crawling down the backrest. I closed the door super fast and when I looked again it disappeared.

We've searched everywhere and haven't seen it. I have 2 young kids and I have already been bitten by a white tail and needed antibiotics and steroids.

Don't know what to do. Hubby bought some bug bombs home but apparently they shouldn't be used in spaces smaller than 2x2 metres. Reading around, they can ruin the interior of your car and leave a poisonous residue.

any advice?
