  1. I find it really strange how everybody recommends different companies when it comes to shipping. You would expect the cheapest company's name would come up more often yet everyone recommends different companies each time. Hmmmmm maybe it comes down to how they are feeling on quote day lol.

Anybody reading this who is looking into shipping things back I would seriously just get your own quotes from the big names out there because it seems answers vary so much from person to person. I actually got 5 quotes and Conroys where the most expensive for me by far. Where as somebody else on here found them to be the better option.

It is definitely worth doing your own research and having the companies come visit you to do a personal quote.......you have nothing to loose and best of all it's FREE!

Its always good to share and research the service experienced by customers of shipping companies but if you are looking for information based on price I would seriously get the quotes in and compare them yourself when you have them at hand :-)

  2. It appears that a similar vehicle in Australia would be worth around $30,000 to $37,000 depending on mileage, condition, etc ... your car would end up costing around $8,500 to get to Australia so including the current value of around £13,000 it would owe a total of about $28,500 on the road in Australia. This is a reasonable amount less than it's likely value although not a massive saving, so although it would be a decent prospect to import you could take it or leave it depending on how much you love the car and/or hate doing paperwork.

All things considered I would put this in Category B because it could go either way.

Thanks for this info Iron Chef, it is really appreciated!!

Looks like we won't bother i think, i hate paper work lol and im stressing enough already about our other possessions. I will be sad to see it go tho :(

  3. Hi Iron Chef please can you help, undecided whether to bring our car over, partner says its going to be too much hassle but i do not want to part with it. I also think we would be sillly not to bring it over as its worth a lot more in Australia. I didnt manage to find the price in Oz$ because on www.redbook.com.au there was not my model c220 SPORT. Please can you find a price for me?

mercedes benz c220 sport, 65k miles, aircon, diesel

    market value UK £13k

Also if you we did decide to bring it over how long can we expect the process to take. Im hoping to join my partner in Queensland by July.

    Thanks
