  1. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE TURN US PURPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!Our Visa was granted this morning! i'm soooooo excited!!!!! can hardly contain myself!!

Did anyone ever set up a check list for post visa grant!? What to do next?? and has anyone used the International Organization for Migration for concessional fares ,or extra baggage allowance??? i think it could be worth looking into?!?

  2. Hi sujit, thanks for updating the spreadsheet! it's so useful to have, our medicals were approved on the 13th, and since then our case officer had been in touch just requesting copies of payslips and tax slips to evidence employment and a copy of my passport(my current ones expired) so just waiting for new passport and hopefully we'll be purple! Can't believe it's all happening so quickly!

  3. All very quiet here today.... wonder if it's because the thread name has been changed?? Thought there might have been some good news today before the bank holiday weekend!! Roll on Tuesday, let's hope it's an eventful week!

  4. Bloomberg it was a general Q! Thanks a mill for replying!!

Cant believe it Flo! That was so quick for your visa! Congratulations!! Hopefully this week is a week full of grants for all in the dreaded waiting room!!!

  5. Congratulations Guys!!! Soooo Happy for you!!!

Just on a side note, i was just wondering, after your visa is granted, how long do you have before you must enter Australia? Is it 1 year from the date the visa is granted?

  6. Hi Guys!! Congrats to everyone who got good news this week!! :) Happy days!

Still no word from DIAC for us since we got ABPF last week, but my agent emailed this morning to say that she thinks we should go ahead and book medicals! I'm a little apprehensive, as at this stage our application could still be declined, should we wait until the co actually makes contact?

Any advice would be much appreciated! :)

  7. Thanks Poeribbo!! Feeling hopeful now lol!! up to my eyes in work and exams at the moment, a co allocation would be just what i need to cheer me up, the knowledge that a new life in oz is not a million miles away!!

Thank you for all the best wishes folks!

Bloomberg, I was sure you would hear something before us. Im sure you will hear something this week!

And Staceylacey, we had ABFP for a month or more before the CO contacted us, but when they did contact us it was only to ask for meds and pccs, Im sure that they were sifting through and verifying the work experience and the other docs in the 'ABFP period' though! They probably dont need to ask you for any other stuff at the moment! Go on, be optimistic! lol!

  8. Congratulations Flo!! I'm really hoping that we have a case officer! We have everything front loaded apart from medicals, including Form 80's, police clearence, de facto evidence, employment references etc! So on the basis of your allocation, and Day N Nite's, i am going to be very optimistic and hope that we have been allocated a co, but that they are processing the info that we have already front loaded before requesting any additional info from us!

What do you guys think? am i being over optimistic here??? has anyone else received ABPF and no correspondence?

  9. Hi guys, I was just speaking to my agent, our status changed to application being processed further last week, but she has not received any correspondence from DIAC, so I don't think we have a case officer after all, I had a feeling it was too good to be true to have co after 2 months, but fingers crossed that we hear something soon

  10.

Hi Guys!! Does "application being processed further" definately mean a case officer has been allocated?? as our status has been updated as of this morning!!

We used an agent, so has the diac emailed her with details of this?? AGGHHH!!! i'm so excited but it all seems a bit sudden, as we only lodged our application in March. Could i be getting excited over nothing?

  12. Hi Raju,

I don't know if procedures have changed in the last few months but i had my skills assessed, as a general accountant by the CPA in Oct '11, and I didn't need to submit any work experience, Just transcripts from exam results for my degree to be assessed as comparable to an Australian qualification, and a letter of good standing from your professional body. I got a positive skills assesment and completed all 12/12 knowledge areas without any documentation from my employer.

Hope this helps, but as i said, things may have changed since i applied! Best of luck! :)

  13. why are we discussing cat 5 this is a cat 4 thread and I think all this talk of quotas etc is just adding confusion and more stress unnecessarily . that's just my opinion !

I think you're right breilly, the only reason i'm askin about cat 5 is that i am a cat 4 applicant of 2012, and simply want to know, does my c.o get allocated before they start on cat 5??? or will they start cat 5 after cat 4 of 2011 is allocated?

    Thanks

  14. Hi, I'm very confused by all this talk of caps on number of visa's to be granted. I asked the question below a while back, but it was ignored. Does anyone know the answer? or could shed a bit of light on this, based on actual knowledge, and not just opinion?

Are all category 4 applications granted before allocations begin on category 5? Or, do they start processing category 5 after all 2011 category 4's have been allocated?? ie, do 2011 category 5 applicants take precedence over 2012 category 4 applicants??

Hoping someone will take the time to reply this time!

    Thanks

    Stacey

  15. Hi Guys,

I've been following the thread for a while, congrats to all that have been allocated CO's and grants.

I just have a quick question to ask, Are all category 4 applications granted before allocations begin on category 5? Or, do they start processing category 5 after all 2011 category 4's have been allocated?? ie, do 2011 category 5 applicants take precedence over 2012 category 4 applicants??

Thanks Guys! Hope that makes sense! :)
