From July 1-2012 it will be cert III+two year expr. or cert 4 as mentioned in earlier post. Before new changes for RSMS cert III + expr was required.
i am not sure about july changes but heard that you have to have cert IV or cert III + job ready skill assessment
but before july changes experience and skill assessment was never required for RSMS

Hi PKB you reckon for nominating as a welfare support worker would it be enough having a diploma of community welfare?Thanx
its depends in what group ur occupation fall in if its considered skill level 3 and not a trade qualification then it would be considered a cert III level position only ...its POSITION which is considered diploma level or cert III LEVEL not ur qualification for example ...ur a cook and u have bachelor degree in cooking but ur position cook is a skill level 3 and required cert III only therefore ur bachelor degree isnt considered for RSMS
-
My job has exactly the same info written (other than responsibilities). Says only cert 3 etc, but I still need a diploma for the rsms. Immigration obviously agrees too as they turned the visa down for the person without a diploma.
immi cant turn down visa as long as u have trade qualification ...for example "cook is a skill level 3 position and doesn't required a diploma its only required cert III " if its not a trade position yes then u required to have diploma and position has to be diploma level for example MANAGER required diploma and skill level 2 position
there must be other reason fro turning visa down may be the position isn't trade position ...like community welfare workers ..its a certIII POSITION but it isnt a trade position

Thanks for all who pointed this.
I think Cook is filled into the "group 3".... is this right?
Cert III is sufficient to be eligible for RSMS as cook fall into major group 3 trade workers therefore application may be approved under exceptional appointment without further submission..( it is exceptional appointment but applicants doesn't have to prove it that's why it says "without further submission")
Guys its cert III ( COMMERCIAL COOKERY) which make you qualified cook. Diploma isn't required to be cook

Hi Friends,
So what about those who already have case officer for last 5& 6 months? Like me. Immigration also visited on my workplace 20th june but still not any decision. I am going back to my homecountry 10th of August because my student visa is expried and can't extend because already extended two time. I applied offshore 119 DRC at melbourne.
visa + nomination 12th Dec 2011
nomination approved 9th of march 2012
immigration visited on workplace 20th june and required some docs
already submitted to immi
Now waiting
our MA contact to CO on 4rth of May 2012 and he said he is processing my file not ready for decision yet and also said don't send any progress inquery email to me regarding application once i get decision inform to you.
Now 3 months passed no any response even than immigration visited workplace but no response yet. so we cannot ask about my application.
Now selling stuff and booking tickets to be offshore bcz have not any visa more.
Lots of stress at this situation. My daughter don't want to leave school and going back home country but we have to go.
I am not sure we will come back Australia or not?
Any suggestion will be appericated
Hi veenameena try to extend your student visa being offshore you won't be able to appeal in case if you get negative decision on Ur application

HE must be refused other onshore visa. The section 48 is to prevent people to apply a new visa when the people still onshore
yes you are right i just find out he was refused onshore 485
A person who does not hold a substantive visa (a visa that is not a Bridging visa or a Criminal Justice visa) and has had a visa refused or cancelled since their last entry to Australia is prevented by section 48 of the Migration Act from applying for another visa while in Australia, except for certain prescribed visa classes.
From 14 September 2009, these people may now be eligible to apply for a Partner visa in Australia if they meet certain criteria. They must not have had a visa cancelled or refused on character grounds or have had a Partner visa refused since their last entry to Australia, and they must provide with their application:
-
Agree, there is nothing at all to say you have to be out of the country when you apply.
This application has been declared invalid because application was onshore at the time of lodement under sec 48 that's all I know at this time when I have more info I will post it here
-
Jazzi87
You do not have to be out of country for RSMS 119 lodgement only at the time of visa grant purposes.
one of my MA's client application was declared "invalid" just because he was onshore at the time of lodgement 119
DIAC declared Invalid under section 48
-
Any one could tell me when actualluy application processing time start date from lodgement or acknowledgement
should be the date DIAC received your application
-
My 857 was granted about 20 minutes ago!!!!
So I guess Perth are moving again.
Time to crack the champagne!
congratulations mate good to hear that:biggrin:

I am not sure it is right or not but your friend's employer can make point about that situation. Employer finding difficulty to operate business due to lack of employee that why he want to sponsor your friend as a full time employee because currently they have lack of full time employee, so thats why they closed onthat time when immi visited.
When immi staff visited my workplace they rang to my employer before coming.
thanx veenameena i will let my friend know that....it was an unannounced visit from immi
-
I must admit, I would be rather shocked if I turned up at a hairdressers during normal work hours and it was shut. Immigration must think the same. I would be surprised if they won an appeal.
agree with you it is strange ....my friend he was in college that day as he is on student visa atm ....other girl taken sick leave so its pretty much bad luck for him i would say...
-
Hi Pkb What was his profession had he had his diploma and assessment?Thanx
hairdresser ....had cert III and diploma,, was approved by RCB
-
Hi
Pkb84 where and when was your friend applied and when he got that bad news.

Hi Friends
i am one of those who has been waiting for last 7 months.
Visa +nomination 12/12/11 Drc Melbourne(High risk)

Nomination aproved same day 9th of march 2012
Now waiting for visa grant
Immi visited on workplace 20th june 2012
asked same question like pkb to my employer or myself and required last 3 months payslip, resume, contract letter and superanuation detail
all send to the immi
But still waiting
Currently on student visa and going to finish mid og august, so going back to my home country with lot of stress and mental illness.
Putting stuff at my friends house but not sure we will come back australia or not?
Good luck to everyone
in this case if i were you i would extend my student visa ..worst come to worst if they turn you down. being offshore you wouldn't be able to appeal
-
Out of interest, are you in the same area as other people who have had visits?
i dont think they are targeting particular area.. ppl getting visits everywhere like surflen22 in perth ,veenameena in vic , i am in nsw
-
I wonder if them targeting certain areas is to do with how thorough the rcb in that area has been? I know my rcb asked for lots more than most seem to have (must have been advertised for a month, in paper and two websites). And then they still turned us down first time because some idiot local recruitment agency told them they could find trained Aussies. We had to reapply pointing out that no agency had put anyone fowards, and that if they actually had trained people they would be happy to hear from them as they need more people. We had to get letters from local councillors and all sorts to show we were an active business. And this is a company which has been going for over 100 years!
it went well with RCB they took little bit long to approve it due to Xmas holidays but the officer was complaining that they are getting too many applications now days when my employer went to see him regarding my application ...
-
so was ur fri visa cancelled or he is trying it second time?
sorry mate here i am talking about my case not my friend
-
Do u mean skill ass of cook- tra?
Is it necessary to hav it for rsms or it's a plus point
u don't have to for RSMS but its plus point to have it
