  1. Thanks everyone for all your comments.

How many of you would be interested in buying British Indian curry mixes to make at home? There isn't that much out there at the moment in the supermarkets that focuses on this market in particular.

    Feedback would be appreciated :-)

    Thanks

    Natalie

  4. Hey Aj good stuff you found something you enjoy!

Rammy girl, i know they are bangladeshi and northern indian, however they do taste different to northern indian curries here and some of the dishes (the famous ones we all know and love ie tikka masala, pasanda, korma, bhuna, dhansak), these are all found here but taste different, i guess its because the chefs tailore them to the british palate.

Anyway its just something that i have grown up with and ingrained into the british culture.

Do you know what i mean now? maybe i should call them british tailored curries

  5. Thanks everyone much appreciated!

Last one alive, did you find these curries similar to the british indian cuisine we all know and love, the frozen one too?

Rammygirl, i dont deny there are great authentic indian food here (havign been to india many times i can vouch for that), however in the UK the curry seems to be tailored for the Uk palate and i still ahvent found anything quite like it (probably more fattening and sugary)

  7. Hi Everyone,

you have all been very helpful thanks so much! I am looking to partner up with some UK suppliers to hopefully sell some products (namely make up, toiletries etc - I know have ot bear in mind customs) on behalf of them. Trouble is I don't know where to start!

Does any one have any contacts or links That could point me in the right direction?

I would appreciate all your help

  8. Nothing, its easy enough to find alternatives and if there is something I want its easy enough to order online or buy from one of the loads of British shops about usually selling out of date Monster Munch!

Thanks everyone this is v helpful :-)

  9. Hi Everyone,

Hope you can help me. I would love you to answer these questions as to help brainstorm some ideas I am having at the moment:

What products/things do you miss from the UK and find it difficult to get them here in Australia?

What things are you finding expensive here in AUstralia compared to the UK?

What things do you refrain from buying here in Australia because they are too expensive?

If you could have one product here which would make your life easier, what would it be?

    Many Thanks Everyone :-)

    Natalie

  11. Hi, Just wondering if anyone has any advice on a 2nd WHV situation...

I completed 12 weeks full time work on a farm but this only equalled 80 days work as I had 1 week in Sydney during this period (I purposefully worked an extra week at the farm to account for this) I have been advised since returning from the farm that it has to be 88 days regardless of whether it was 12 weeks or not...

I was also asked by immigration to provide further documentation as i was doing an unpaid job, incl bank statements, additional forms etc. Havnt sent this yet.

Currently don’t know whether to contact immigration explaining whole situation (honest mistake), tell them I will go back to work the extra days, in case it is possible to amend the dates on an application (?) or whether I should just cancel / withdraw the application, go back to farm and work extra days and then submit a new application, paying again (hooray)...

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks
