Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say.....WHERE IS OUR VISA??????
Ahh, that's better.
As I put on my signature bit on the bottom of this post, we were promised end of Oct. but maybe a change in ce officer has delayed us.
Will keep you posted, hopefully have news any day now. I will keep watching this thread as always.

Folks, been a while since I posted on here but thought I'd check-in to see if there are any mid-May applicants with feedback on grant dates?? I'm hitting the 5 month mark tomorrow. Also, anyone else got VF and heard from her recently? I haven't contacted her for around 4 months now but there don't seem to be too many mentions of her on here...
Hi brucey,
We applied early may, told early oct grant, but still waiting . Hoping to hear any day now. We have also not heard a peep from our CO (MC) except a few weeks ago to say she is finishing up and case being taken over by someone new. have not had any email from new person yet.
Just waiting waiting waiting. No real rush as house not sold. So just incorporating the waiting into every day life!
I will update the DaveS spreadsheet as soon as we are granted, as this seems to give a good indication of current wait times. Will defo contact new CO if no grant by end of month.

Wow, greeneyes, congratulations!! Exciting news for you, and for me also,as we submitted within a day of each other according to the Dave S spreadsheet! our case officer (MC) is now leaving however, and her replacement won't arrive til next week,so hopefully we will be granted soon.
Congrats again! X

QUOTE=greeneyes;1935976390]Hi all.
E-mailed my CO a few days ago (CO is PS) to remind him that I would be going to Thailand on Tuesday for 10 days for a friends wedding.
He responded saying he is now in a position to grant my visa.
Whoohooo!!
So... applied May 10th 2012 visa granted September 27th 2012 (but need to leave Aus before I get it!)

A huge congratulations to all who have had their visas!
Have been watching the posts for a long while now, it's good to see familiar names finally getting granted! It's weird how lots have been grant in a short period of time. Can't wait til oct time to finally post our "got it" post.

That's great thanks katyjc and johnboyW.
Definitely like being back at school and I think I am starting to over think things. I just don't wanna get anything wrong!!
Definitely need to get on with it though. Fingers crossed I should have everything finalised this weekend.
Does anyone know how much the medical checks cost roughly?
x
My husbands was £290(in Birmingham ). From reading other posts they seem to go from about £200- £290ish

Hey guys..I posted on here a while ago and then forgot my password so I couldn't get back on for a while..haha stoopid me
Hope you are all well.
I STILL haven't sent my visa off, been a little slack if I am honest but planning to get it sent off over the weekend.
Just a bit of advice really..The nature of the household and social context statements are they written from me? Or in a third person sort of way for both of us, do they both need to be signed? and witnessed?? Does everything need to be signed and witnessed?? Neither of these statements are very long either..any pointers?
Thanks in advance xx
Hi EllieB,
Yes, takes ages to get all the stuff together doesn't it! Like being back at school!!
For the nature of the house hold I typed up some pages with bullet points of info addressing things similar to what they suggest in the booklet,
eg division of household tasks, who does what with kids, who works when, who pays child are etc. then I put in a list of the paper evidence I supplied that went to support that category. Then I put it together with a big paper clip( no staples apparently, as they want to quickly scan the stuff) to indicate that all this paper addressed The Nature of our Household.
Social context similar, firstly bullet point listed things we do together, joint memberships, overseas wedding attended. Then listed the evidence I wa supplying to support this (as I recall was mainly photos of us doing stuff abroad or with mates, some wedding invites), then paper clipped all this together.
Down the bottom of almost every page me or hubby typed we put a little statement( that I copied off the last couple of pages of the application,) saying something along the lines of declaring the above information to be true and accurate to the best of my knowledge. Then we printed names and also both signed the forms. Don't take this stuff to the notary public, else will cost a bundle ( we only took passport copies, birth certifs, wedding certifs, pay slips for the notary)
Hope this helps you. Best of luck. :-)

Have people been told what visa they will be receiving? We sent our app mid feb, and although no more info is needed, we haven't been told what subclass to expect is this normal?
Hi jimmyciara,
We are similar to what TheGrahams have posted, in that we had to ask specifically which subclass we were being considered for. We asked after sending all the requested bits( medical, police check) as wanted to check these had all arrived.
the wording was something like... I can now inform you that all requirements for the subclass 100 have now been met...
Your case officer should be able to give you an indication

I had my medical on 31/5/12 and I still haven't heard anything from CO (VF). I emailed today to chase up.
I also informed VF that, as of 8/6/12 I am now married!
Congratulations on your marriage johnboy!

Hi maisem,
My hubby had same prob. Was told by medical centre to get forms off website, he thought they meant the medical centres web site, but we eventually figured out they meant immi.gov.au
Printed off and took form 26 medical exam form
and form 160 x ray form
Some bits you can fill out in advance, some bits need signing in front of medic.
Also, ours wa £290!!!!! Arrggghh, and we get no real indication of results, only that it was ok.
Hope this helps

Hi all,
Got some good news today, so wanted to share it with you all, as am reading this thread almost daily.
Email from CO today, all docs in, hubby being considered for subclass 100! woohhooo!
CO said it will be 5 months from date of lodgement, so that's early October for us. I am sorry to read that some of you have been waiting 6 months, so will hold back with giving notice or putting house on market, as 5 months could become 6 by the sounds of it .
Feel like we are genuinely in the queue now! Yay!!

If any of you are interested I thought it might be nice to collate dates from the forum...

Feel free to add/remove/amend your details from the spreadsheet I made it world editable.
Dave
Hi Dave S
Thanks for including us in this spread sheet, we both found it very useful. It is nice to see at a glance what period of time people have waited.
How could Australia not want you with such magnificent spreadsheet skills!

LOL so were we!!! Keep updating, did you use a migration service?? Fingers crossed we have been given a date around the 21st of July for my visa to be granted !
Hi PollyGirl,
No migration service, we did it ourselves, which is probably why it took about six months to compile! We had planned to submit jan 2012! Lol! 21st July not far off, you must be getting excited/nervous??
-
Has anyone got MC as there CO??
Yes, Pollygirl. We have MC. Can't really comment on her feedback etc yet, as still waiting for police checks to send her, so will probably contact her more then.
Glad to hear someone else has one MC, was thinking we were the only ones ! Will keep updating when have more news.

Hi all,
have been reading this post with interest for months now, and finally have something to contribute myself! Yay!
I am the Aussie, hubby is the Pom. We submitted his spouse visa app 09/05/12, and CO emailed back within three days, requesting med and police check. Medical booked for hubby tomorrow in Birmingham (£290 - what a rip off!!! Didn't expect that one!) police forms posted this week. Case officer is MC, have had a quick scan through and couldn't see anyone else with this CO. Excess docs have been sent back to us this week, just not had time to get themfrompost office, so unsure what's come back yet.
Will keep you informed as we progress. I get so nervous even typing about it, but I know we have a long road ahead, so trying to keep a lid on excitement.
As for bank statements, I put in the last three months, hubby could only print off the last two. CO not asked for any more in terms of documents. Hope this helps.

Hi Iron Chef,
I have found this thread very useful. Was wondering if I could ask your opinion on my car please?
Mercedes Benz B160 2009
1.6 petrol, air con,
11,000 mileage
Uk price approx £11,000 to £12,000
I was unable to find a B160 on redbook, they seem to start at B180, so have got my resale figure from a 2009 B180
Private sale AUD$27-30,000
Do you think it being a 1.6 will be a big negative?
Thanks very much, look forward to hearing from you.
