Well that's all our belongings gone! I have to say that the two guys from John Masons did a fantastic job packing our things and everything went really smoothly. Would definitely recommend them. We complete on the house tomorrow and then it's goodbye to our family home of 31 years. Strangely neither of us feel sad, we haven't had time to stop and think; it's just been full on for the last few weeks. It will great to just chill out for a while!! I think this calls for another glass of wine! Ha ha!! Angie x

Enjolyed reading your post especially regarding John Masons as we have just decided to use them ourselves, we are in the process of de-cluttering and have sold the house subject to exchanging contracts. Looking to fly out in January, initially staying with our son, d-i-l and grandson in Wakerley.

Hi Kate,

We applied for the 143 in May 2010, our son and d-i-l had moved to Brisbane in February 2009, our case officer was allocated in July 2011 at which point we were asked to provide evidence that they were settled before they would proceed with our application, we emailed the following documents to our case officer: Contracts of Employment for son & d-i-l, House purchase, Mortgage statement, Car purchase, Mobile phone contracts, and birth certificate for our grandson who was born in June 2011. Our visa was granted in November 2011.

Still following the forum, thought we would give an update. After our CO was allocated:biggrin:on 8th of July we were asked to send further information regarding our son & dil being 'settled Australian permanent residents' due to them living in Oz less than 2 years when we applied for the visa. Thankfully we have overcome this 'hiccup' and after confirmation from our CO last Thursday it is all systems go. Hoping to book our meds on Monday, decided to go to Edinburgh the current cost being £290 each. Will update tracker in due course.
