I understand you so well... Had the same thoughts before I got my visa. But once you get it, your thoughts will get much more hectic...

We're landing in Sydney on a PR(189 visa) on 4th December. Before we land, I'd like to apply for the following from India itself:

1) Tax File No.(TFN) for me and my wife

2) Medicare card for me and my wife

3) Railway card(Is it called Opal?) for Sydney

 

How can I do so?

You better open a bank account before you arrive so you could pick up the card once you land.

I submitted mine on September 30th. Still waiting and I know i can't do anything abt this.

You have nothing to worry about.. It's normal waiting time!!!

Im holding my nerves......I had a request only for medicals which was submitted.....however I had no request for Form 80 or 1221, checked the request again n again if I missed any info..... anxious wait now.....

and whts the approx time of grant after medical (if all things are OK)

Medicals results go directly to your case officer, so no need to worry about that

Well I don't have the original document to be certified by the Justice of the Peace, I only have a copy so I was unsure if DIBP would except a copy if the JP has not signed it? This is a stressful process. Thanks for your help

Thank you. I have a copy of my academic transcript from 2013 when I applied for my Australian nursing registration. Can I use that copy for evidence? It's black and white. The PCC for the UK takes 10 days which I have applied for. I think the online Australian application takes 10 days.

I guess you can use them for DIAC. If your Board of Nursing is OK with them, why shouldn't DIAC be?

But you better look for the second opinion, as that is not my case, my transcripts from Russia are in colour, and verified by an officer from Australian Embassy in Moscow.

I need some advice. I am at a stage where I can apply for the EOI. Do I need to apply for the police checks before or do I have plenty of time once I have lodged my application? I'm a nurse and I have my degree and diploma certificate. Do I need a university transcript? The uni will not send me the original copy.

Hi,

Depends on how long it takes for the police to prepare PCCs for you in your home country. For instance, it takes for ever in Russia, and I applied for it long before I got an invite. In fact, I had all docs prepared before submitting an EOI.

You will most likely need your transcripts, it's in DIBP's documents checklist. Ask them to send you over the verified copies.

Lodge mine 16th july Orlando still no word been told it's just a case of picking our file up hope u don't have to wait as long as we have its horrible x

The spreadsheet shows there were so many grants today. I lodged my application on August, 24th. My grant must come soon... Hope there will be no delays in the processing of my application...

You have to fill in the follosing forms both for your wife and you:

Also, it would be better if you submitted your and your wife's CVs

Starting this thread for friends who are awaiting 189 visa grant. I have applied on 14th May 2015 and still waiting to receive grant. Tried calling couple of time but didn't get much of updates. Just waiting.

 

Let's use this space to share updates on grants that are long pending.

Depends on the assessing organization. My assessment (CPA Australia) took 4 days.

Have undergone the medicals on Friday. Last requirement fullfilled. Now it's only the waiting game left...

there was a grant last saturday.. maybe more grants tomorrow..

Grant on Saturday? Sounds strange...

No grants today? I can't see any updates in the spreadsheet...
