spouse visas are not capped and will not be effected by this.
male applicants get effected because of our reputation.
They are dragging most of the Male applicants cases just because they can not cap it so they will grant the visas from the quota of next financial year.Budget 2013-14 - Immigration AnnouncementsBy Mark Webster

Hi rackspace !
Congratulations on the grant of visa. Which Visa is this, spouse (309) or the visitor visa (600) as I read on some previous posts that you were also looking for visitor visa after medicals done for spouse visa.
Regards,
newone
spouse visa, which is 309.

Rackspace can i ask you if you emailed/called your case officer regularly after submitting your application? It's been two months since my wife submitted her application, I have not heard a thing nor have i contacted AHS or CO.
you should keep in touch i would say. i am not sure about new process of launching app through avac though. but if you are not satisfied, provide your feedback http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/forms/services/
this is australia, feedback matters and can change systems for better.

Visa granted.

Can you please tell me how much time it took for visa grant to come after submitting medicals/PCC?
Hey XEN,My CO told me that my PCC had expired after 6 months when I finally got hold of her and asked for my visa as it was almost going to be about one month till my med were submitted.
In my case, my PCC had been expired for only 2 days when my CO told me about it. She asked me if I could leave the country right away, If yes only then AHC could prolong my PCC for 5-6 days MAX. I gave her the guarantee that I will make preparations to leave. The next day she gave me the VISA GRANT before 12pm.
If you have a copy of the PCC then check which date it was created?... If you think that the same case can be applied to you then great but if your PCC has been expired for almost about two weeks or more then you will have to get a new one made
-
You very welcome ETP.
No she won't and even if she then you shouldn't be worried about it. As a matter of fact, medical result comes with in 24hrs min, max 48hrs and medical is the last requirement so what is left after this....guess nothing except VISA GRANT. According to CO's once file is complete they send it for Decision which basically goes in a Queue, so from Queue to Visa Grant it's roughly 1-2 weeks. So please don't hesitate to contact your CO everyday even twice a day
Hope & pray you get your grant soon.
Best,
Aussie Girl Bay
for me it has been now 5 weeks after medical

Any female applicant in here who lodged via courier to the AHC in the past month or so? DHL confirmed that the application was received by the AHC on the 17th of April. We still haven't received the acknowledgement letter? What is going on? We pay Huge fees for partner visas and the service is just disgusting. Why are they taking so long just to issue an acknowledgement letter ?
it took 3 weeks for us. but ours was not through new system.
-
They have their own envelopes. They will put your passport into an envelope and send it to the High commission. Once the high commission is done with the visa they will send your passport to the AVAC and the AVAC will then call you and tell you to come over to the center and collect it.
how much time did your visit visa take?
-
How are you submitting the visit visa application? Are you going to the AVAC to submit your application or is your spouse going to send it to the AHC from Australia?
They will ask you to submit biometrics no matter what and with that you have to submit your passport.
Once they make a decision on your visa, they will call you and ask you to come collect your passport and the decision letter.
There will be no visa label in your passport
Yes, the applicant will launch it through AVAC.
So I reckon they will collect the biometrics then and there?
This is the response of embassy:
Yes sir you can travel with the visa grant letter.
It is not necessary to put label on passport; you can easily travel and fly
with grant letter.
Now the question is that do we need to include any envelop to get the passport back from embassy or I will just get it back from AVAC center?
-
They don't require passport these days. So a grant letter is required to travel.
yes, this is correct. i got response from the embassy confirming this.
-
Is it necessary to send passport with the visitor vissa 600 applications or can one travel without any visa stamp just with a visa grant letter?
-
Sponsored visit one?
normal one.

Rackspace - I see in your timelines that you have submitted your medicals in March, did you hear anything back from AHC after then?
Thanks.
No. Waiting.
-
Guys, does any one knows how much time visitor visa grant is taking now a days?
Website says 4-6 weeks, but we all know how Pakistani timelines can vary greatly.
-
Hi All,
If you guys have checked AHC Islamabad website, they have advertised Visa processing officers vacancy (s).
If this is in addition to the existing COS then it is good news that our processing would take less time and if it is filling in position that means processing would stay more or less the same.
What time brings, we will see. Hoping and praying that whatever the case may be, it works in our favor. Insha Allah.
Regards
There will be weeks or months of training first.
-
It's been a month since I submitted my Medicals..No reply as yet..
did you submitted medical on CO's request?
-
I actually got my PR visa grant in 5 days after submitting medical and PCC.
-
My Medical was also done on 25th March still waiting for the decision , there is no time frame for it , just hope for best and with any luck the decision can come anytime soon
the average i have calculated from the sheet puts the average duration for grants at just over a month.
-
medical done around 25th of last month, when should i accept visa grant?
-

Timeline (309-Spouse visa) applied in May?
in Family / Partner Visas
Posted
according to my knowledge spouse visa are not included in any quota.
so they are not delayed till next financial year .. they are not capped either.
family stream visa are other kind of visa like parent and leftover relative kind.
plus processing is so segmented, spouse visa is processed by each country local embassy. which means there are literally over a hundred processing centers.
it is not possible that all of them start delaying processing once they start reaching quota. such thing will require central processing like there is for PR visa.
