  1. Does anyone know how you find out what occupations accept the pearsons test. My husband has is a painter and decorator, he's tried the ielts but didn't do very well, just wondered if he'd do better at the pearsons x

sorry didn't see the title went wrong ;)

  2. I don't think it's fair that you don't get told where you went wrong and you should only have to re sit the low score result. You say it may be your hand writing, but you'll never know for sure it could be all sorts of reasons.

It takes up to 6 weeks to hear back and costs,I think about £60 and you may not get that result either.

  3. Hello Bob

Ive chatted to you a bit before about my pugs. I just wanted to check if you still use Quantas on all stages of your journeys as I know they're are about the only company that will fly Pugs. I'm just a bit worried about

not being able to bring them

    Thankyou for your help

  4. Thanks for the replies. We're not worried about it, my oh manages his diabetise really well never had a problem since he's had it- 17 years. Of course we'll be getting professional advice but it's nice just to chat with other people who've been through the same thing, I know everyone is different. It was if we needed forms from Drs to get them know or just leave it till we do the Medicals. Round where we live it can take at least 6 weeks to see a Dr for anything :)

  5. Hi just wondered if there's any type 1 diabetics on here. My oh is one, I was just wondering what sort of info we need to get ready for Medicals and does it take a while to get what ever we need

    thanks x

  6. Good morning all

Just a question about TRA Skills Assessment.

Here in the UK I am a self-employed industrial roofer and cladder which falls under the Australian term of Roof Plumber.

I am self-employed but I am a not a business owner, nor do I have clients or provide materials etc etc. basically, I sub-contract to contractors who provide all the above, so in effect, it's basically just a normal employment just slightly different for tax purposes.

Last year, when I contacted TRA, I seem to remember them saying that they consider people in situations like me to be "employed" for the purpose of the application form, but to just evidence everything and make sure I explain it in my personal statement.

Has anyone else been in the same boat and if so, what was your way around it?

Also, on the application form it asks what your "Occupation" is with your employer. Now do I put the UK job title ie "Industrial Roofer and Cladder" or do I put down (to save confusion for them) "Roof Plumber" ?

    Thanks

I have been worrying about this myself. My oh is a painter and decorator and has been in the same position as you. He had worked for lots of individual people over the years some times fir weeks on ends or just a couple of days .

  7. Is the crb the same as the acro police check x

i am slightly panicking about this. I'm worried we won't get our visa. My oh got 6 weeks for speeding and he's had a couple of cautions as well. This was back about 18 +'years ago. Trouble is we can't rememer the dates etc. I wanted to do a police check just in case when we applied we got something wrong or missed something. God that makes him seem bad it was only minor things. He now has his own buiness and is doing well

  8. We don't live there my sil, does. She's in Winton. When we visit we do go to Boscombe beach though, It's quieter than Bournemouth beach. In the summer you do get lots of Hen/stag parties, so you sort of get to know where to go and where not to go. It's a lovely place bit pricey for us and I don't think I'd like to live there it's near enough for us to visit :)

  9. A month before our wedding I found out I was 4 months pregnant. We were getting married and moving house the day after we got back from honey moon stressed was an under statement. 16 years later and 2 more girls later(3 girls in total) I couldn't be more happier. I go with out so my girls can have things I go shopping determined not to buy things for them just me but it never happens. I did all my living before having them. I wouldnt be with out them x

  10. Thanks for the replies it was just mainly to put my mind at rest that all the info we got was right, also as it's all new to us our heads are buzzing with so much information that we're taking in so again Thanks

  11. We have been told we can apply for a 189 visa to wa. We are from the uk. We need 15 points for age 10 for qualifications 15 experience and English language 20. Oh is a self employed painter and decorator.

Im ok with it, just being a little impatient

    Thanks :)

  12. Hi we are just starting out, our migration agent has said that we need to pass an ielts first before we can do anything else towards our Visa. Is this normal as I've seen from other people's time line that they've done bits before doing ielts

    thanks x
