  1. That is quite normal, they will only contact you, if there is a problem, but if you need confirmation that they have received all your additional information, just fire of an email, asking if they have now recieved everything that they need, and your co will get back to you normally within 24hours.

    Hang in there, I know it's tough, I also had the pleasure of a 5 months wait, with no contact from my co, so I understand the stress and constant checking of email's syndrone, finally got here Sept 10 and have been loving every minute of it since.

  2. Maybeamy hi

    Great to hear you are loving it down in SA!! Can you tell us who your CO was (initials) a couple of us have the same officer and some have not heard from them.

    Thanks and enjoy your adventures!!

    My CO was LG, she was excellent, she emailed within 2 days of receipt of application asking for medical, which was done within the week, then she emailed to confirm everything was in order and visa would be granted sept, which then changed to Oct, so I rang her, and she was really understanding and talked me through the ETA option and provided an email for me confirming it was fine to travel while waiting for visa to be granted.

    The whilst in OZ she emailed all the relevant details through to me and visa was granted October as promised. I think basically no news in good news, if they need something they will be in touch with you, but I would ring and just check that they have everything they need, if that is the case, ask for a completion date, so you have a date to work towards.

    Good luck, I'm not going to tell you not to worry, as I suddenly devoloped OCD, checking emails every few minutes, took to rocking in corners etc, so just try and stay busy.:hug:

  3. Lodged application 6 weeks ago and not heard from a case officer at all. Front loaded everything and have been co-habitating for a long time with tonnes of evidence so I'm thinking if they don't need anything from you then you won't hear......... though I may be wrong and I'm still at the bottom of a pile awaiting a CO. :chatterbox:

    You should ring and check, usually after 5 days you get an email confirming payment has been recieved and the name of your case officer and a reference number for all enquiries, they are human and in my expereince helpful, once you pluck up the courage to speak to them!.

    For all those thinking of getting an ETA, that is exactly what I did, my CO confirmed my grant date as 16.10.10, as opposed to the original 16.09.10 quoted, as my flights were booked she advised me to go on an ETA, she emailed me on the 14.10.10 to advise she now had a visa grant number for me, and for me to let her know when I was leaving OZ so she could put it on the system, I flew to NZ on the 19.10.10 returned 4 days later with visa activated. As long as your CO knows where you are it is fine, I also printed out a email of her confirming that I was fine to travel to OZ while waiting for my visa to be granted ( been watching to many border control, and was stressed about the paperwork, CVs birth certificates etc). During the month on an ETA visa I sorted out banks, school for my daughter new house,etc the only downside is if you have children they have to leave the country with you, if they are dependants on your application.

    Happily living with OH in Roxby Downs,SA the middle of the desert and lovin it.

  4. W-hooo w-hoooo visa GRANTED on the 8.10.10. :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

    I have been in Australia for the last 5 weeks, couldn't wait any longer, I had been apart from oh for nearly 9 months, so in the last 5 weeks we have moved into our new house, sorted school out, and have been enjoying Roxby Downs S.A life, and being together again.

    Off to New Zealand tomorrow to activate visa, thanks to everyone who put up with my rants and raves, happy to report all is calm now, and its lovely to see all the people who were stressin with me recieve their visa's too.

    :hug::hug:

  5. sorry can't help with singapore waiting times, but if you don't get a reply from your email, ring up and speak to your case officer, or the consulate you applied too, and ask them, what the status is on your application, they should be happy to help you, perhaps you haven't heard anything because they don't really need anything else from you, and you'll just get the visa approved email.

    Sorry I can't be of more help, good luck

  6. No we didn't, it was a straight forward application and AH confirmed that they process applications in date order, they don't fast track agency applications, so we just put it together ourselves, and everything is fine, but you do have the benefit of your agent checking over everything, front loading with med's & police checks, so you shouldn't really need to send any more documentation in, and don't stress if immi send stuff back to you in the next 2-3 weeks it just means they have scanned what they want, and kept what they need, and the returned stuff is surplus to requirments.

  7. Yogij congratulations!!! You keep us all going for sure, all the very best to you!

    Can I ask you if you used a migration agent to assist with your application?? My partner Jane, is an Aussie citizen and we are going for the permanent residency as we have been living together for over 5 years, we used a fantastic agent in Australia. We have lodged all the required documents together, applications, police checks, medicals, photos and all requested certified documents. We have only this month lodged and have been told to wait 10 working days and they will be in touch. As we are unsure of processing times, as majority appear to be 4 months, could you let me know if you have gone through the same process I have mentioned.

    Thanks so much for your time.

    Nando and Jane

    If you are applying through the London Australia House, up to 10 days after application you will recieve an email confirming receipt with your reference number on and introducing themselves as your co, then request any further imformation if needed, and then its just a long sit back and wait, new cases after 21st July, are being qouted 4-6 month proccessing time, but it may all change again after the election, who knows.

    So welcome to PIO I'm sure you will become a regular,:biglaugh: you won't be able to help yourself, and I hope your application runs smoothly.

  8. yes, it is good news, but lets face it, this feels like the longest 4 months in the whole history of man, my house has never been so clean and decluttered, my waist is back to 27", ( not seen that since my 20's, recommend the visa stress diet, you'll feel like ****, but the weight just drops off ya) and I am sick of hear myself moaning, " It's not fair, rant rant grrrrr".

    And am slightly concerned with my growing dependance on PIO, could this be the start of an addiction.... or PIO OCD LOL

    Hope you are well and not driving yourself insane, I did get your pm and will stay in contact, xx

  9. Awww bless, I hope it gets sorted for you really quickly!!! Men honestly :wink: with the whole don't stress my OH he is excately the same nothing seems to phase him it will happen when it happens kinda attitude, might be why he has less grey hairs then me lol.

    Thanks I have always thought I was a laid back mellow person, but this visa has proven me wrong, we actually booked wedding in Feb when October seemed miles away, he is Australian, and had the whole "lets just get married now" attitude, but I was the one, who said no, lets do it properly pmv, spouse ect route and we actually held back our application, until I got my exam results ( I am a 40 y.o reception teacher and have been doing special needs to qualify as a SEN teacher) thinking it would be just an 8 week wait , Ohhh how wrong I was, now OH's brilliant idea is just come, nip over on an 11 hour flight to NZ to activate visa. I'm beginning to feel like Miss.Haversham, customs are gonna love opening my case on my holiday visa, wedding dress, veil, tiara, shoes, favours etc.....

    It is no good I really shall have to ring my CO, I can't cope with the silence!

  10. Have you told your CO that you have flights booked? When I was waiting (albeit quite a few months ago and things change a lot in that time) the impression I was given by my CO was that booked flights may help expedite matters. But like I say, policies change.

    I was completely frigged off waiting 4 months. 5-6 months is a tough gig as Peach will tell you.

    I told my CO my flight was booked 27.08.09, when I applied 8wks ago, just taking me up to the original 12 week quoted, wedding is booked 20.10.2010, I have spoke to airline they will let me change flights to 14th sept free, I haven't checked internal flights, this will give me 5 weeks to "fine tune" as oh puts it wedding arrangments, flowers,bridesmaids,songs,cars etc!!!!!, I am so stressed, I shall ring my CO tomorrow and see what news she has for me...........oh well yet another sleepless night coming on. :arghh::arghh::arghh: AND to add insult to injury, when OH rang immi in OZ they are still quoting London as 4-8 week turn around, and if he say's don't stress one more time, he may get to see a whole new side of me. LOL x

  11. Hey Maybeamy Good luck with your app mate!! but wow your weddings not far off! why wait so long to put the app in or book the wedding so early? have you been advised a processing time for your app? Most people ive seen on here have been waiting at least 3 months some 5!! even when they are married for 10yrs, have kids and a house.

    Did you book the wedding so close to the date of app in hope youd get processed faster ? If it does take the full processing time hopefull it will be 3months to the day so you get a bit of a chance to prepare for the big day.

    My mate flew into oz and had to get married 2 days after arrival for having to wait for his pm 300 visa. poor lad went from uk winter to ozzy summer, never seen a bloke sweat in a suit so much!

    Wish you the best mate, will be interesting to see how fast they process your app with it been so close to the wedding date.

    It was 8.06.10 I applied I made a mistake on original post, when we looked into this visa in Dec 09 they were only taking 3-6 weeks to process, and I didn't want to put application in too soon! ( agghhh hindsight) as I had my final exams May 27th, so finished and passed these then sent in application, I break up for the 6 weeks holidays next friday, and thought I would be merrily packing, we actually booked the wedding in February, when october seemed a world away.
