I applied in April, the Easter Sunday night, the first test and interview arranged in 14 Sep, but I changed it to 22 Jun, then a long waiting to now and further month(s) or days~ Hope all of ours approved soon!

Not sure if you guys saw my previous post, but my partner passed his test 27th June, 2017 (Sydney CBD). He just got his approval finally last week so maybe there is a little movement. Fingers crossed for you both!

  2. Good news here for some of the long waiting Sydney Applicants, I checked my partners Immi account and it has finally changed to Approved! A looooooong 9 months after passing his test, and 13 months since application. Now to wait for the ceremony but this is a massive relief as it was the unending limbo that we found most stressful. Hooray!

    Timeline as follows:

    Applied Online: Feb 2017

    Test (Sydney CBD): June 2017

    Approval: March 2018

Ceremony: Who knows but Immi account says usually 6 months from approval!

If your application was approved after the test - and you can check this on line, then you should have got a letter a few weeks later.  After this your application moves to your local council to invite you to a ceremony?  Is your postal address up to date on the application?  Have you checked with your local council to see if your details have been passed to them?

My son applied in April, did test in November and is attending a ceremony on Australia Day.  Must be a small ceremony though as in local library and he is allowed to bring several guests!  This  is SA.

This is the problem Rammygirl. Test done and passed 100 percent in June but no approval. Spoken to department several times, its 'processing' and just need to wait. There is no rhyme or reason as to why some people like your son are processed so quickly or others like my partner languish in limbo.

I am not 100% sure but someone told me that queue is related to the date of application and not related to the date of the citizenship test. As the department has the service standard from application date to the date of finalisation, therefore, they would prefer older application first. I applied 18th April and you on 16 April, therefore, your application should be approved first.

My partner applied in February and still no approval letter :(

  5. My partner rang the hotline today and the lady was most unhelpful. His application still hasn't been approved and she said they couldn't look into it until the processing time of 14 months has passed. Frustratingly they did have the wrong address on file as well but she said that didn't matter as she could see no letters had been sent.

    He applied in Feb 17,

Test and interview - mid July

    no approval letter yet.

This was in Sydney ( now living in Adelaide).

  6. Hello everyone!

Haven't posted on here in a long time but just after some opinions.

My partner applied for his Citizenship in Feb 2017, Sat and passed his test 15th July 2017 and we've still not had an approval letter (so nearly 3 months now). Not sure if this is unusual and we should be chasing them or not yet?? We actually moved states just after he sat the test but they apparently did the paperwork for change of address etc whilst at his interview. We do also have mail forwarding set up so theoretically if it went to the old address we should still have received it.

    Thanks :)

  7. many thanks to everyone! Peach I would really bully your CO.. we had just sit back and let them get on with it, which has been advised, you know dont nag them. But in these circumstances you have every right to. I just thought sod it. I want that bloody visa! And it really paid off. Theres no good reason for them not to apart from their own benefit for the july turnaround. Come on Peach!!!

Londonluci, was your new CO D.P? That dude was a godsend for us! He really got on it and sympathised with us after explaining our circumstances.

Good luck to everyone else! Maybe see you there! x

oh.. and we've been waiting since jan the same as peach, which is 6 months next months!

Thanks for everyone's kind words! Hope all your visas get approved asap!

Hello Berkandmath - yes D.P was our new case officer! What a legend... I was panicking a bit, spoke to him in the morning, he rang us back a half hour later to tell us it was approved! He was so nice on the phone as well, really friendly and helpful. Very different from old M.R. Such a relief.

Everyone chase up your case officers! There is no reason for things to drag on as they do.

  8. So so happy, managed to speak to our new case officer this morning and he rang me back just then to say he was approving our visa today and he'd be posting my partners passport with the visa stamp today!!!!!!!!!!!!! It certainly pays to chase them up - if we hadn't pestered them we weren't getting a new case officer till the 1st of June!!!

So completed timeline is as follows:!

Partner visa handed in in person in London 1/3/10

C/O assigned and payment taken 3/3/10

    Aus police check requested 3/3

Police check sent in about a month later

    passport requested by phone

    New case officer assigned 21/5

VISA APPROVED and will (apparently) be posted today!!!!! 21/5

ARGHHH so excited!!!!!! Looking to fly out the first week of june.

    Good luck everyone:jiggy:

  9. Right, I am scared now. Just spoke to an agent and they said that because i have not had much residence in Australia recently that this could be picked up and affect my application!

    Can anyone help??

    Emma

I've lived in England for nearly 5 years and am hoping it wont be a problem. I've included a statement with my application about how i will be able to perform my sponsor 'responsibilitys' even though i have been overseas for so long. Just wrote about having family support in Aus blah blah. I think it was asked for as part of one of the questions about proposed accomodation for your partner in Australia. Hope that makes sense! We're doing this on our own though - no agent - so hopefully it all goes smoothly!

  10. just incase anybody elses CO initials are M.R, Ive just rung and he apparently doesnt work there anymore. The person taking over his work is out of the office til june 1st! brilliant.. more delays just what i need. Left a message so we'll see if anyone gets back in touch

    Hi Berkandmath,

seems we have the same case officer! So annoyed.... just rang and got the same message. M.R had asked us to send in my partners passport as well so now we're stuck in limbo. Glad you let us know though - we'd have still been patiently waiting if we hadn't seen your post. Grrrr.

Frontloaded Appication handed in in person at australia house 1/3/2010

    C/O assigned 3/3/2010

request for aus police check 3/3/2010 (even though partner hasn't lived in aus for a year)

police check sent aprox 1 month later.

Passport requested (by phone not email) beginning of May 2010

NOW no case officer until 1st of June!

    Waiting.......:skeptical:
