  1. Urgent help please:

Hubby is going to take his visa application to the Consulate in person because of the short amount of time until Christmas shutdown.

If you lodged your 309/100 partner visa in person, what address did you take it to?

    Many thanks!

I didn't lodge it in person but there is only on place and having been there with my husband it tells you where to go. it's at the op of the strand just at the end of Holborn

  2. It's great to see so many June applicants finally getting their visas. I do wish there was a bit more consistency with the timeframes though because from this forum alone a number of people have got their visas within 5 months when I was told 6 months & these same people applied after me. Im hoping my case officer was just giving me the worst case timeframe as this wait is hellish

Have you chased it with your co? seems that helps.

  3. i just spoke with my co. he said my visa should be ready to be finalised on the 4th. he asked whe the closing date for the job was which is the 5th ( got to wonder if i'd have said 4th whether it would have been ready earlier) i am a bit cobfusedtho as he said that when it's granted on the 4th it would be the 5th there. he mentioned 4 in tge mroning, but can't work out if he meant visa would be granted on the 5th at 4 am which seems odd orbat 4 pm here. who actualy does the final "yes"

eith way not long to wait.

  4. AB. Just sent a polite email asking if I could get an idea of when it would be granted. Not sure, we are probably looking at late Jan, would like to be over before Australia day if we can.

looks like AB is grant happy lately lol. i chased saying it was close to guide pircessing times and i have a job i want to apply for so would be good to send proof or a guideline for time. normally he has come back first thing in the morning but nothing yet. guess maybe no news is good news..........unless he's off sick lol

  5. Fab stuff you filed the same day as me :-). Whose your co? Gonna chase mine now, what did you say? I am about to send a job app sp wondering if i can use that as an excuse as i asked if they had everything a few. Weeks back. Eeeek exciting. when are you going?

    Hi all

Thought I would email my CO for an update late last night, what with all of the other June grants going through, and sitting in my inbox today is my lovely 100 visa grant.

Thanks to everyone for the info on this post, good luck to all still waiting and don't forget to fill in your stats on https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aopvk3Y5mD7HdGp5V2hESFluN3V0QWNBTDg2TWJoLVE#gid=0 so everyone can see how long the grants are taking.

  6. Hi everyone,

Quick question. I got some of my documents sent back to me from my CO and was wondering what that meant. They sent back my original birth cert & my police check certificate - won't they need to keep these? Or does them sending these back mean that they have logged that i have them and that part is now done?

Also how do you know whether you have submitted everything they need? Do they tell you right near the start or do they spring it on you later?

Thanks in advance for any help.. and congratulations to those who got their Visa today.

They send originals back and then they send you a letter asking for medicals and police checks, etc as well as assigning you your co. They will let you know if they neec anything else

  7. just wondering if there is going to be a big gap between grants. i filed my visa on 27 june so just before time scale changed from 5-6 to 6-8 and now 8-9 months. currently its taking about 5.5 so going on that basis post 1 july would take about 7 months so what happens between decs grants for junes applications and feb when the juy ones shoud be granted.ni suspect in reality the july applications will be taking 6 months to grant

  8. We have deffered our medical requests. We have asked for a long lead in time as we are in no rush to move. Howeve she said thatt it's not normal but would be willing to do it if we stick within their good practice guidelines. i.e they want to stick to processing times so we can't delay that. Therefore she has agreed to request after 3 months, and then we have 49 days to complete meaning we have in reality up to 4 1/2 months into the process to get them the medicals and pcs and they can still grant within the 5-6 month timeframe. We did this in our initial letter so whether they would do this now they have requested them I am unsure. It will make no difference to your grant date, so if you feel there may be an issue that may delay you then hold off a bit longer. If not then just get them out of the way

  9. I emaile dmy case officer to day abpout the time frames. A perect job has come up in my ideal company and typica;;y I don't think they'll wiat for visa grant. I wante dto give realistic time frames so I askedgiven all the talk about extensions. This is what she said.

    (case officer is jc)

For applications lodged in the previous financial year such as yours, we are trying our best to stick to the 5 to 6 month processing time originally quoted and for your planning this is currently looking closer to 6 months than 5. I believe the rumour you may be referring to is the increase in processing times but that is only affecting those who are lodging their applications now in this current financial year where applications are taking 8 to 9 months due to planning levels.

Realistically as you lodged at the end of June, you are looking at a decision time of the end of December unless there are any dramatic changes to our processing times.

I am trying to find out what that means for us as that will mean Boxing day grant date which obviously is not going to happen. But this may be useful to others.

  10. Hi,

we applied for my 100 class visa at the end of June (27th I think check my signature lol) was told 5-6 month wait and most seemed to be nearer the 5 month mark at that point so I figured we'd get a grant at the end of November maybe early Dec at the latest. However now the time seems to have extended to nearer the 6 month wait which will put us slap bang over Christmas. Does anyone know what happens then? Do they shut for a few weeks and grant in the new year? In all honesty it won't effect us as we are not planning on going anywhere until Aug unless a job comes up and that is a bad time for job hunting so that is unlikely. but for my own sanity it would be good to know what to expect?

    Thanks

  11. Hi just had a phone call from my case worker. We have JC. she was very lovely and heloful. She will request medicals in 3 months to keep within their guidelines but help us out with a longer leadin time. Confirmed I will go straight onto the 100 which is a relief and just a couple of bits of minor info required. My ex didn't certify his passport copy and I need to give the addresses fo rthe last 10 years. All good :-)

  12. Hi K8bug79, we're heading to Perth and as soon as possible really. OH already has his visa but we've not been in a position to get ours (me and our daughter) until the house was sold, however, time was running out with the 1st of July looming so i've sent it off anyway. Hoping to exchange on our house sale this week. Fingers crossed it doesnt fall through . Ive had such a flap today, OH has been laughing at me running around trying to get things certified. Only remembered at 3 today that my friends dad is a magistrate, so went flying round there with a promise of a bottle of red . Its just so nerving not really knowing what they're going to decide. Silly really especially when you know its all above board. I suppose only time will tell.

Visa buddies.... i like it !

I am with you there, i ran around on Friday and then pics on saturday. I hope the house sale keeps moving for you

  13. The weight has been lifted.... ive finally posted my application off today, special delivery. Its such a relief to see it go and fingers crossed they have everything they need. So excited :jiggy:

Hi Samlee337 we can be visa buddies lol. I sent mine yesterday arrived this morning and they have already taken the money. feeling a bit apprehensive about everything now. Hoping that we have provided the right stuff, particularly for me to take my eldest daughter with us (from a previous relationship.

Where are you headed? We hope to go to Sydney but are going to delay it as long as possible. Prob be August next year before we actually move unless we get jobs. Asked fr them to request medicals at the last possible stage. I am not too concerned about the wait because of that, although I am looking forward to being able to apply for jobs when grant is near.

    Good luck

  14. Thanks, I keep going with that theory, my husband is concerned they'll take our money and refuse it.

On another issue we are hoping to get our application off on Monday in for Tuesday. As we want to try and beat the 1st July price hike. However I am waiting for the outcome of an interview for a really good job in this country which would see us delaying our application by a year or so. But we are concerned that the later we file this week the more likely they are to "hold on" to the payment mandate until Monday and apply the new prices. Do you think that is likely? The interview was almost 2 weeks ago and I called on Friday presuming I hadn't got the job but they were still deciding and hoping to let people know early next week. We reason we can hold off posting til Tuesday afternoon, to ensure arrival Wednesday (special delivery). I see that they mostly take payment the same day or following day but worried some ruthless CO may hold out. lol

  15. k8bug79 have you got 2 Aussie stat decs?

Wills would be a good idea (irrespective of assets!). Are you named as beneficiaries of each others pensions?

    Thanks John and Eliza.

We are a bit poor on the old forward planning, always intended to get wills but same old story, costs and time etc. We both have very small pensions my husband started his recently with his company and I understand as a spouse I automatically inherit it upon his death so I am not named in it. I haven't paid into mine since before we were together, again due to circumstances.

We don't have 2 x Australian stat decs because we don't know anyone in Oz, well only some distant family who don't know us as a couple. It does say if ts not possible to have 2 Oz stat decs to get someone from your own country.

Eliza, we moved into Helston in 1st Sept 2010 lol. However I grew up here so was coming home.
