can't help a lot but I've spent a short time in Mosman staying with a relative. You'll have obviously checked them out but Mosman and Balmoral are some if the most expensive, sought-after areas in the whole of the city. Harbour views will set you back massively too.
you get what you pay for however. Mosman has a great village feel, some beautiful views, a wonderful beach at Balmoral and easy access to the CBD via bus or ferry.
