Demographics
4.2% of St Andrews Beach’s population is UK-born migrants and this is the largest migrant group in the suburb. The Mornington Peninsula is predominately english with the majority of residents being Australian or UK-born migrants. Dutch, New Zealand and German migrants are also common in the suburb. These migrant groups are also the next largest behind UK-born migrants in St Andrews Beach and on the Mornington Peninsula. Scottish, Italian, Irish, Welsh, American, Canadian and French migrants are also smaller migrant groups in the area.
The area is popular with wealthy retirees. The suburb mostly consists of Managers, Professionals and Clerical/Administrative Workers.
Transport
Sandy Rd is near the beach and is the more scenic way of navigating around the area. The popular golf course is also along this road. The Mornington Peninsula Freeway is also nearby for a quicker commute to Melbourne.
The closest train station is in Frankston however there are plans to electrify the train line to the Mornington Peninsula in Baxter.
Real Estate
St Andrews Beach’s median house price is $1,200,000 (November 2018). Rents are also affordable in 2018 with a median price of $385.
