Guest Guest66881
A council has been branded ‘insulting’ after sending out a Christmas card to its residents warning them not to ‘overindulge this Christmas’ but instead pay their rent. Hammersmith and Fulham Council said 46 per cent of its tenants were in arrears and it did not want them getting into more debt over the festive period. However, one renter criticised it as a ‘threatening piece of literature masquerading as a Christmas greeting, it’s insulting’. Tina Buckley and her mother Mary have lived in their council-owned home for decades and said that they have never been behind with their rent. http://metro.co.uk/2013/12/18/council-sends-insulting-christmas-card-warning-tenants-pay-your-rent-4235650/
