I have just arrived in Australia on a WHV and plan to stay and work in Sydney for the next year. For this reason I am classifying myself as a resident (until the new rules kick in 1/7/2016). I'm just unsure as to how the tax works given I have just arrived late into the financial year. Will I not pay any tax unless i reach the threshold of 18,200? Or will I pay tax and then get a tax rebate? Clarification on this would be much appreciated! Thank you! :cute:
