  1. Problem is you can’t get through! It just says high volume of calls please call back later.. this is day 2 of calling at random times throughout the day
  2. Hi just wondered if anyone had any information on the following: I’m now a PR living in QLD, My parents are currently staying with me on holiday from the Uk on a holiday visa for 10weeks. They have flights booked to go back to the Uk on 25th April. At the moment, Emirates still have their flights as confirmed, however, if this changes and flights are cancelled, what happens about the visa ? They would normally have to leave after 3 months to be able to come. Back in for a period of up to 12 months. If they can’t get out would there visa be extended? I’ve tried to call all British consulates in Brisbane SYDNEY Canberra and Perth, and the phone line is dead. Just wondered if anyone else would be in the same predicament and if they have been able to get any info? Thanks in advance
  3. I’ve recently been granted PR, very happy! Just wondered what happens next? Does my tax change on my salary? Do I need to apply for citiZenship? What is an RRV? I have a 10 yr old daughter, I’ve been told we need to be citizens for her to receive government funding for Uni. Is that correct? Thanks to you in advance for your help

    Rockhampton

Just got back from a trip to Rockhampton and Yeppoon, what a great place. Relocating is now becoming real and not just a Dream! Definitely would be looking to live in Yeppoon. Been looking at costs for removal/backloading, anyone have any experience or companies they would reccommend? Looks pretty pricey!

    Rockhampton

Wonderful! Thanks so much for your response. I’m definitely not a big city person, I much prefer to be closer to the beach so I did have a look at Yeppoon/Kinka Beach areas. I lived in Phuket, Thailand for 12 yrs before coming to Sydney so I’m more used to the laidback easy lifestyle. Sydney can be too fast paced at times! Hoping to get up there this weekend to have a look around, thanks so much for your advice.

    Rockhampton

Hi, I’ve been in Sydney for 2 yrs on a 457 visa, my nomination is in for PR. My company have offered me a job in Rockhampton. Im a single mum, daughter Is in year 4. School fees are killing me in NSW, so just the thought of not having those to pay are tempting. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on living in that area, I prefer to live by the coast. Rental prices are much more affordable than Sydney!
  8. Yeah I realise that, I was more meaning in this situation isn’t this an easier way forward without an agent?
  9. But surely as I’m already into a 2 yr 457 for the same role, and my employer is happy to sponsor me for PR, isn’t it plain sailing?
  10. My employer has done a 457 to PR begore
  11. I was in Thailand from 2004 to 2015 so my police check was done in August 2015 in Bangkok, I came to Sydney in October 2015. So that one wouldn’t be valid? To do it again I have to go in person to Bangkok [emoji50]
  12. Hi, I got my 457 in sept 2015 so I’m now getting ready to apply for PR through the employer sponsor transition scheme. I have 1 dependent (my daughter) on my current 457. I’m trying to figure out whether I need to use an agent to help or if it’s pretty simple to do it myself ( with my employer as my sponsor ) Anyone done it themselves or does everyone use agents now as things get so complicated? I can’t think it can be that difficult as I have all the paperwork that I needed for my 457. I’m assuming I can still use the same police check etc that I had for the 457? Any advice would be appreciated
