  1. Thanks for that i will definitely look into doing the course before I leave the UK then thanks again x
  2. Hi everyone, apologies if this is in the wrong place or has already been covered. I see that most/all construction vacancies require a 'white card'. Checked it out online and it looks fairly straight forward, just an online course? Just wondering if I can apply for this and complete the course whilst in the UK? We won't have a fixed address when we go out to australia and will be camping for the first month, so would be ideal if we could sort it out before we arrive. Any info is much appreciated, thanks peeps! x
  3. Hi everyone. Me and the boyfriend are flying from LHR via Abu Dhabi to Perth, with Etihad in March. We are living out of backpacks and a tent for the first month whilst we travel around WA, and are wondering how strict they are with luggage dimensions? The weight is not an issue but the tent that he plans on attaching to his bag is over the 90cm dimensions for length/height. Has anyone had any experience with Etihad and do you know how tight they are with the sizes of luggage? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. X
  4. Hi all, I have recently been granted my 417 visa and im waiting for my bf to get his, however, its taken over a week so far. They asked him to provide a colour copy of his passport and attach it to the application, which we did, but still no word on the visa? It has been over a week since he applied and we are getting worried. Has anyone else had this sort of issue? I saw on the immi website that processing time is 6 days. Can anyone put our minds at rest? Thanks guys & girls. X
  5. Thanks for the input peeps. Very helpful as always x
  6. Hi all. My boyfriend and I are travelling to Perth around March time next year. We are planning a month "holiday" to travel around WA, with the plan of hiring a car/camper. After that we plan to do relocations to enable us to travel cheaply and save on accommodation. However, i have seen a lot of people who have bought 4wd's to do their travelling and it has got me thinking. We want to travel and see as much as we can whilst keeping costs low. Just wondering if anyone can tell me what I will need (documents and legalities etc) and what costs i am likely to incur if we were to buy a vehicle - other than the fuel! Just so i can weigh up the options and pros/cons of each option. Also, we want to do as many of the national parks as we can, are these easily accessible with just your run of the mill vehicle or do I need something like a 4wd? Any info/help is much appreciated Thanks.
  7. Thanks a lot Jonathan! Have an amazing time!!
  8. Thanks a lot for that, it is the plan to continue travelling for as long as funds permit! Thank you
  9. Hiya. Thanks for that, i will have a look into an open ticket, i didnt actually think of that haha! So even if I don't chose an open ticket, they wont object to us not having a return or exit flight booked?
  10. Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum, so thought I'd introduce myself! My name's Gabrielle, and my boyfriend and I are travelling to Perth on our first WHV in February. A quick question, and apologies if it's already been covered; i read that you need to enter Australia with return flights booked..? Is this true? Our plan is to get our second WHV and then travel on to NZ so we are only planning to book one way flights as we don't know when we will be returning to the UK or where we will fly back from. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks a lot in advance! [emoji4]
