NSW - our relatives are just north of Newcastle but Sydney is better for work. We can stay with them while I job hunt but we would need to move to the city as soon as i found something (or i stay in a cheap hotel during the week temporarily)

Likeeveryone, it was an accident. I came on a three month contract and stayed 10years…time to be near the sea though. Since we love scuba diving, surfing andall water activities…not sure a landlocked country is the right place for us. Where/when were you here?

Wow, thank you. I am new to the process and just started reading up on the rules of visas but that has answered all of my questions. My husband is also on the CSOL but not the SOL list - I tend to earn higher so it makes sense I get the job first as we will have a ten month old baby by the time we move. Eventually we look at childcare and he will start loking for a job but in the short term he will get us settled. We can stay with our relatives you see so he will be finding a place to live etc

Hello everyone, My husband and I are planning to move out in 2015 (I am pregnant so we need to wait) and haven't started the visa process at all yet. We were going for the regional sponsored as we are both on the CSOL but not SOL list but I have some questions: 1. Employer nominated would be much easier - are there are any companies likely to sponsor an overseas applicant. I have seen jobs in my area (Company Secretary, ICSA qualified, 15 years experience) that seem to have been advertised for months so perhaps they are hard to fill? Or is it more realistic to go independently and job hunt when there - I score 80 on the points. 2. My husband doesn't plan to work the first year (he will be a stay at home father until we get settled), can I add him to my visa and how easy would it be for him to change once he is there and he decides to get a job? 3. Sponsored by family - we have second cousins (direct cousins of my husband's father??) - I guess they are too far removed to count? Thanks for any replies, Sarah
