yorkshireinoz
Hey fellow poms,

Hoping you can help, just had our 3rd baby (2nd born in Aus) and recently was laid off at work, redundancy is starting to run out and im hoping to retrain, been a handyman for 10 plus years, currently residing in cardinia melbs and hoping that there is a painter decorator/ plumber or plasterer who is looking for a hand and would be willing to train an apprentice, pretty confident on these techniques as have done basics all my life (my father ran a successful maintenance company and was working from 11 there) currently turning 30 next year, so would be awesome if anyone could advise or give a hand
Guest The Pom Queen
Hi @yorkshireinoz sorry to hear your dilemma. If you had been over 45 you may be able to access help on this http://nationalseniors.com.au/be-informed/news-articles/mature-age-workers-get-free-career-check Keep looking at the job sites http://au.indeed.com/Apprenticeship-jobs-in-Victoria I know our painter moved to Melbourne so I will ask him if he knows anyone.
