My husband is in the uk and will follow me out when our house sale completes-which is taking forever! I live in concord at the moment and am working in Smithfield. Am missing my friends back home and those people I can just pop round and see for a coffee or grab a glass of wine (or a bottle!) with. My names sarah im 28 from the uk and just arrived in sydney last week- im on my 2nd WHV and did stay in sydney for 4 months when I was here last time but don't know many people atm, would love to hang out and watch a movie or go for a drink. I'm 29 and moving over with my bf. We both have jobs in Manly and will be looking to live in the Northern Beaches suburbs . Anyway it would be great to hear back from people. My other half is currently in Kirkham and working in Glendenning (both a bit of a trek from the city) but I'm hoping to find work nearer the city. (I'm of the opinion that if I'm giving up a job I quite like here I've gotta make it worth my while, right? ) I'm mid 30s, no kids. I love my mountain bike (really missing it as it's in a container somewhere on the high seas). Love music and love to go to gigs, especially rock, folk, acoustic and soul, I have very catholic tastes. I'm very excited because I'm being treated to a ticket to the Blue Mountain Festival in March where my favourite artist is playing. (Can't wait for Bluesfest next year, I think this year is too early when I'm supposed to be looking for a job). I'm also a bit of a geeky girl so I hope that's not something that'll scare people off! I'm a bit shy but love a good giggle and can't wait to get out there and explore. Emma, I see you're in Manchester, I'm North Manchester so if you wanted to chat feel free to PM me. I am in oz now on a whv but visit nz in jan for 3 weeks. Am looking to settle in bondi when I return to find work and have a good 6months there. It's a fast turnaround here so you gotta keep on the ball and keep making friends Always happy to meet lots of people so maybe we should sort out a meet up ..... Talking of meet ups...check out "meet up". It's a website that does exactly what it says on the Tin. Was a boredom saver for me in the early days and is just great fun now. I am going to be based in the hills area initially and it would be great to meet some new friends to spend time with. I enjoy going out for dinner and drinks.
