Well the new series starts tonight on Channel 10 (new to Aus) ,, i have already seen some of them and think its quite funny, Karl Pilkington is hilarious.

Are you going to be watching?

Think this show might be a good example of the differences in what is considered entertaining (funny, clever, demonstrating wit) in the UK as compared to Aust. We watched some of it and thought it was childish at best. I was talking to friends this morning who thought it was fairly stupid as well. It will be interesting to see if they show more than one season of it here or not.

Glad some of you liked it though - and lets face it - it wasn't any worse than Home and Away or Neighbours

Oh I loved it, and I have a pretty dry sense of humour. I didn't find so much the slapstick side of it funny, him in awkward situations, etc. But I love travel and learning, and coupled with Karl's off-hand comments really had me cracking up.

I love this programme. I've seen everyone he's done and laughed so much at them although I think the last ones weren't quite so good. I was going to put some quotes but not sure which series they're from and don't want to ruin it for anyone. It's worth watching just for his very impressive gag reflex!

I'm not comfortable with the premise of the show TBH. I too find Karl hilarious in his own right, but it's the fact that 'they' have orchestrated all these awkward situations he finds himself in, so that you're laughing at him, and that is actively encouraged by his 'mates' Gervais and Merchant.

For me Ricky Gervais has to be one of the most over indulged celebrities of all time. 'The Office' was great, very much captured the zeitgeist of Britain in the naughties, but he's been dining out on it ever since.

I love British comedy,in my opinion Britcoms are the best but I'm afraid An Idiot Abroad just doesn't do it for me,I do understand that

some people think it's hilarious and that's great but just not my cup of tea.

Cheers
