Misplaced
Hi, As you may know my OH has just had het subclass 100 visa granted but we are a little confused. The email states that she can't claim any benefit until she has been in Oz for 2 years but the infer on DIAC says she can claim some benefits. Can anyone put some clarity on this? And before people start going on about us being scroungers we aren't it is a genuine question and we hope we will never have to claim any sort of benefit when in Oz
RockDr
There are some things that are available to new immigrants. I think it's the child related stuff, but you don't qualify for other types of benefits for the two years.

calNgary
Once your here and know what your income is ,contact Centrelink and they will tell you if and what you qualify for. The standard payments some migrants recieve if on a permanent visa are Family Benefit part A and B, Rent assistance and child care allowance, the amount varies depending on your income. Hope this helps Cal x
