Breezer Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Hi everyone, Can anyone help? We recently had a removal company visit to quote for a container for our furniture, etc. when we talked about exporting my motor bike the agent recommended a company based at the docks in Newcastle (UK) who only export cars, motorbikes, etc. Does anyone know their contact details and/or has anyone used them? The agent said he knew of someone recently that used them but he didn't know the name of the company. :arghh: Cheers Breezer

furkew Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 research carefully if it is worth bringing them over. Cars & bikes are expensive over here (made even worse with the exchange rate at the moment) but bringing a motorbike over is IMO definitely not worth the hassle and cost involved, unless they are classic/rare/exclusive or of sentimental value. Cars are not too far behind. After shipping costs, cleaning costs, roadworthy, compliance issues, higher insurance because of being a grey import, lower re-sale value as a grey import and possibly difficult to get spares & expensive to service if its not a type standard here in Oz. I'm not saying dont so it, but I know a large number that have personally, and about 50% regret the doing so. Do your homework properlybefore making any decisions.
