Jad
Dear All, After years of pleading with my other half, I've finally managed to convince her and her daughter to come with me. Does anybody know the approximate waiting times at the moment for a prospective marriage visa once the department receives the application? BTW, I only have 1 year left on my skilled migration visa (136). It runs out on the 1st Feb 2013 and I want to go asap!!!! :arghh: Regards

lebourvellec
From your previours posts the PMV is not the correct visa for you, if you have been together for more than 12 months you should be looking at the partner visa. (PMV is for people who can not meet the requirements of the Partner visa) http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1127.pdf PMV and partner visas have about the same processing times - around 6-8 months, it can be less than this. It is possible to travel to Australia on a tourist visa after Partner visa is lodge and wait until it is processed - but before it is granted your partner and child would need to leave Australia for a few days for it to be granted. Also you may need court permission to take child to Autralia which can take some time.
