peggsgreen
Hi all, We are going to be applying for the 175 or 176 visa. I am the main applicant and are currently waiting for my ILETS results. I am a nurse and my husband will be the 2nd applicant, who is a builder. Does anyone know if he needs to do the English test also or will he be covered by his NVQ? Also we have seen that if 2nd applicant has suffecient English results then we only need to pay 1st payment for visa and not the 2nd one also. Would this be true??? Could do with help!!! Dont know weather to get a agent, what are your views on this? Thanks Lisa:arghh:
Ken
The 2nd payment doesn't apply if you have a British passport (from which it is assumed you can score a 6 in the IELTS test without having to sit it). Also applies to some other english speaking countries e.g. Eire, Canada, South Africa. Other nationalities have to pass IELTS with a score of 6 or above to avoid the 2nd payment. Your husband could just go on your visa so he wouldnt need to do any tests at all.. Would be cheaper too..
