Welcome to the forum, to be honest there isn't a lot you can do if they have acknowledged receipt and said it will take time to process, hopefully it won't be much longer now.

Hi!My husband applied for his Indian pcc through passport seva in Mumbai on the 7th of June 2012., he still has not received it. Can anybody tell me what's the processing time? We have enquired with the passport officials as well as the police station with no clear reply whatsoever. Any information would be highly appreciated

Did you apply for the pcc online? I had applied online for mine, took a print out and visited the passport seva kendra in Bangalore. They issued the certificate within 2 hours.

Thats exactly wat we did. I got my pcc in 45 mins but my husband required a police verification to be conducted. The police verification is done but now his application is stuck at sp office, Mumbai. We made enquiries there as well but we've been told that they have 1000 applications before my husbands to process. They refuse to do his on priority. We were assigned a case officer on the 15th of may. The only available appt was 7th June. We're really worried about it right now. Which is why I thot I'd chk to c if there were similar cases like ours . We're really hoping it gets done quickly coz there's not much we can do at the moment.

Hmm sorry for the callous attitude of the Police. If you knew any person in the department, maybe it would have helped in movings things faster.

Hi all,

I applied for my PCC on 13/12/12 and was expecting to get it in 5 working days as when I applied last time it only took 4 days which was in Sydney. This time I applied through vfs Canberra and after a couple of emails to them they replied yesterday that it has been sent to authorities in India and will take on an average 6 to 8 weeks. Just wondering does it go to the high commission in India and then to the regional police office or how does it work. After reading posts on expat and other forums , posts by shanders I am very worries that it might take a long while is there anything I can do to expedite the process? By sending my father to the RPO or to the embassy ? Any help would be appreciated.
