Hi there

Whereabouts in Darwin have you moved to? We're hoping to move to Darwin in the next couple of months, if everything falls into place. I would love to get to know others there so that I have some friends already made when we arrive.

We have a 9 year old boy and a 6 year old girl.

How are you finding the weather there? Are you coping??!!

Me and my husband will be moving to Darwin on the 23rd of January. We dont know anyone up there so a meet up with people in the same boat would be great! I know there are a few others on this site that are new enough to Darwin so maybe a meet up on the 'Socialising' section might do the trick!

Definately a few people who live in darwin fromthe UK. You will not be alone there. I have been here a while and looking to get a few pommies and ozzies to do a meet and greet it certainly helped us to feel welcomed.

give me a shout if you want to meet up.

The first week of work is over and it has been full on!! So much to learn, trying to cope with the heat and sweating etc. Its been a challenge but very enjoyable at the same time.

It would be nice to make some new friends.

My husband and I are in our late 30's and dont have kids. We like to go for a drinks but I cant do the mad nights out anymore. Im too old to be dealing with hangovers!! He is starting a new job next week so dont know the hours yet. It would be nice to meet up maybe before the end of the month. We are in Palmerston. Maybe a few others on the site may want to meet too?

Hey Whoops!

I hope you find a 'happy' equilibrium, my wife and I moved to adjust our work-life balance and didnt get what we expected but are happy with the results none the less!

It would be nice to make some new friends.

It would always be good to meet like minded people, who've gone through the 'migration' experience!

My husband and I are in our late 30's and dont have kids. We like to go for a drinks but I cant do the mad nights out anymore. Im too old to be dealing with hangovers!!

Hmmm, I dont like hangovers either so I avoid them by using a two-pronged attack; more beer and numerous neobrufen! But that said my wife is sensible and we are still 'DINK's thus far!

He is starting a new job next week so dont know the hours yet. It would be nice to meet up maybe before the end of the month. We are in Palmerston. Maybe a few others on the site may want to meet too?

Congrats on the job there mate!

Anyways, I hope you succeed and feel well while acheiving your goals!

Hey Michelle! We'll be living in the NT by Easter (wow, that's going to go fast! :jiggy:) and I'd love to have someone to meet up with and make friends! We're in our 30's too (just past the 'mid' so I guess I'm now in my 'late' 30's....). We do have two kids but they're pretty cool and well behaved. We don't go out much at all but I'm hoping we can take advantage of any social opportunties so that we can get to meet people (even if just a BBQ?). We are planning on probably living in Palmerston once we figure out where and find a place.

Keep in touch if you like?!

Hi Guys,

Just seen this thread and want to jump in lol. We are also new to Darwin, been here now for 8 weeks and loving it so far. We would also like to meet and make some friends who are in the same boat as us ( newbies ) who fancy a few drinks, BBQ's ( I can burn anything so be warned ), beach/Pool/ kiddies fun etc etc. We also like to go out without the kids for some adult fun but we are not complete pissheads, we lost that when we gained our little man :-).

We are a brit/belgium couple early 30's with a lively 2 yr old son.

Come on peeps, we don't bite..... well not too hard

We are moving to Darwin next month (Arriving 19th July) "WE" are myself, hubby, our 16 month old twins and our choco lab. (Well she will be joint us after q-u-a-r-a-n-t-i-n-e (Ssshhhhh).

Would love to meet up with other people. Despite the young age of our twins, we are actually a bit older. Shall we just say life began almost a decade ago!!

I've started a facebook group called Darwin Mums and families (only me and hub as members at the moment). I thought we could perhaps use it for sorting out playdates and what have you. We'll see how it goes.

It's great to find this thread. We're going to move to Darwin in the next couple of months if everything falls into right places. We have 2 children: a 5 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. Hope to see all of you in Darwin and best wishes for your family
