Guest OnlyMe Posted December 7, 2011 These welcome threads are always a bit awkward, aren't they? Hi everyone! My name is Natalie, I'm fifteen years old and I've been a Pom in Oz for six years. Thanks to nothing but pure stubbornness and absolutely no talent for mimicry, I still have quite a strong accent and I still like England better than Australia. I plan to move back there when I turn eighteen, but for the next three years Australia is where I will be living. Yeah, that's pretty much it. I'm really pleased to find a forum like this - I'm the only person I know that doesn't think Australia is the most fantastic place on Earth. It's nice and I like it, but it's not home. So... yeah. I'm very lucky that my 16 year old likes it here, I think she sounds the same but her teacher (from Yorkshire - we're from Lancashire) didn't even guess that my daughter was English lol.
