Janie101
Hi everyone I'm more than sure that the answer is Yes but I have a 6 year old son who has epilepsy and only has seizures whilst he is asleep and usually bought on by tiredness. The thought of this long haul flight is stressing me the most coupled with the fact that my OH may be going on his own with us joining him later. I also have an 8 year old! So not only the thought of taking 2 young children on a plane (poor other passengers) but also him having a seizure? Stressed thinking about it :arghh: Thanks Jane

RockDr
Your doctor is probably the best person to talk to about health risks etc. You may have issues with travel insurance, so that's something to look into. You'll probably need to go with a specialist insurance company. A quick google should bring up a few. Don't worry about other passengers, but make sure the flight crew are aware, especially if he has grand mal seizures, as it might take two of you to keep him safe, there are alot more hard things around that he could hurt himself on than in a home environment. In terms of general tips for travelling with kids, I wouldn't worry too much, it's the toddlers that other passengers tend to dread, by age 6/8 most kids are generally happy with the in seat entertainment, and the odd book/colouring book type thing. Their own pillows and/or cuddly toys can be helpful, and will also be useful settling them into the new environment in Australia. Which route are you flying? Be aware that there is a rooftop swimming pool in Singapore Airport, so if you have a more than a couple of hours, that's a really good way to burn off energy such that the kids sleep on the second leg of the flight.
