silly question - re the safety of other people packing

Hello

Stupid question :goofy: - but when you go on an areoplane you get asked so many security questions - it is pretty hard to do anything you shouldn't - thank god.

But if you are trusting a packing company to pack everything for you, for them to then take it to their depot and fill the container (our house does not have easy access for a 40ft container) - who is reasonsible if someone in the company is dodgy and no one knows till the container gets to Aus????? :frown:

Told you it was a silly question !!

Any thoughts????

I think you have to sign a customs declaration that there are not things in it like explosives etc (I know that gas bottles for BBQs are) so you are responsible. There is also probably something in the contract between you and the removals as well indemnifying them.

There's a question on the form about who's packed your stuff - and you can say the company so that should be ok :)

We were in the same boat as you - no way a container would have made it safely into and out of our village! And our stuff is currently off the coast of Fremantle on its way to Melbourne.....

Does anyone have a spare instruction manual for a baby girl?

having just had 4 different companies in for quotes on packing, they all said that you state on the form that the packing company did it, it's them their responsibility
